The movie in question is Buena Vista Social Club, whose credits have obviously not been updated since imdb was allowed, since one of the musicians has his credit with a (IV) attached.

So, when auditing the crew credits, I came up with some questions about who should be credited, and if so, if they should be credited twice.  Any help is appreciated!

Crew:

1)  under the heading "All Concert and Studio Recordings" in the opening credits
- producer
- executive producer

(the question is because these may be producer & executive producer for the album, rather than the film, since one of them is Ry Cooder)

another executive producer & two other producers are credited later

-----

2)  persons credited under headings "Cuban Crew," "Amsterdam Crew," and "New York Crew" in end credits
- director of photography (under each)
- sound (Cuban crew)
- sound mixer (New York crew)

a director of photography (the Cuban crew one) is also credited in the opening credits
the person credited as "Sound" in the Cuban Crew credits is also credited as "Production sound" in the opening credits

-----

3) persons credited under heading "Los Angeles" in end credits
- film editor, sound supervisor, sound re-recording mixer, sound editors

the film editor is also credited in the opening credits

-----

thanks for any advice!

I wouldn't credit them as it sounds like they are the music producers.

I would credit them because this is a documentary and it seems to have been filmed in multiple locations.  If they are credited twice, once in the opening credits and once in the end credits, then I would credit them twice.

Same as above.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I thought so too, then I wondered because, as part of the documentary, there are parts of the concerts in the film.

EDIT:  But even so, that would make them the concert producers, not the film producers, right?

I was thinking the same thing.
