Due to some major computer problems at Christmas I needed to format my HD's - I can't seem to find the .dpb files in my backup drive to reload my profiler.

I have the My Online Collection but can't see any way of downloading it into the program that I have reloaded.  Is there a way  of doing this or am I looking at many many hours..days of input!

Thanks for any help you can offer

There is. In DVD Profiler, go to Online. Choose DVD Profiler Online. Once you've signed in, choose download. This should get you your online profile to your desktop one. In the future, you could also save your backup to a portable jump drive as well.

OK - another problem with downloading collection.......... when I first start up program I can add a NEW DVD (have done it twice to test it) - then I download my collection from here - it does it thing - ends with and error message saying the program might encounter a problem.
What happens is that I do get my collection and I can see it - but I can no longer ADD any new DVD's to the collection.
The error message that pops up is - *Access violation at address 00AC9368 (this number has changed depending on when I rebooted program)...in module dvdpb.exe  Read of address 00000006 (this number has also changed with reboot)

I have rebooted and also uninstalled and reinstalled DVD Profiler and same thing happened....
I'm running Windows 7 on a 64b machine

Any advise on how to get it to work ???  I'm just not sure what to check next

Thanks

Have you tried a database repair? I run this at least once week and is the first thing I do if I'm having a problem.

Tools > Options > Utilities > Repair Profile Database.

Yes....  have tried that many times as well... just did it again x 3 - it also does it thing and seems to complete the task and then it keeps booting back to the Error screen which at times  won't go away unless I reboot the computer.
After the *Repair* is so called done and then comes up with the screen saying it encountered a problem it gives me the option to do it again - start another data base - close profiler - etc -  if I chose to repair again it will give me the same options again even though it says it has repaired but hasn't..... its teasing me lol and giving me a headache lol

OK.....this will probably change stuff... Decided to start a new database - I was looking at the settings and setting up things.... at the bottom, on the left hand side there is a *default* green bar that was running - I was assuming it is loading in an update from the website of movie info etc - it got just over half way and then that error message pops up (which is where that green bar was before but I thought it had to do with transferring my collection).  Any ideas??  This is the second download of the program.

Are you sure this solved the problem? If the HD is damaged it might not be enough to format.

Yes - it wasn't the HD itself - it was a nasty virus and it is GONE  :-)  (for the most part found out the virus laden emails were not coming from my machine but the clean sweep did me good anyway cause it did find stuff)
