So i thought... is it possible to restore DB from my iPhone, since i have DVD Profiler on it ? if So can you show how? | | Posted: | | | | After creating a new empty database, you can restore your DB from the DVD Profiler Menu: Online>DVD Profiler Online. Instead of Upload, choose Download. Also check Download missing images.
Edit: Looking at your Online collection I see that you haven't updated it in almost a year...tsk, tsk...shame on you.
I'm almost certain that creating a new empty DB in DVD Profiler and then trying to update via your iPad won't work because the option to Send Changes on the iPad will be greyed out and you'll end up wiping out your collection on the iPad if you select Update. | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

Maybe there is a data file on there that could be manually converted. There are enough hackers in this forum - maybe something could be cobbled together. It might be a good tool to have around in case this happens to somebody else. If using the Online is not an option for you, all you need is to create a list of UPCs from your iPad into a text file, such as email or something. Then you can quickly recreate your basic database from the UPC list in one of several ways. Unfortunately, you will have lost the personal info using this method. | | | Thanks for your support.

A lesson to be learned and as far as myself from the hardest way. i lost plenty of DVDs but the worst thing... i lost a lot of private data. Such as location on my shelfs and boxes... So if you have a large collection, have spend many years working on it, putting all kinds of info, and worship your stuff like me... RULE #1... BACKUP your collection on different HD... if you do not... believe me one day you'll regret it... like a just did... and s...t happens all the time. | | | | Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! | | | | Last edited: by zefeer |

I'm not sure what you mean by "lost". There are a couple of powerful tools, less than $100 than get up to 100% of data from a corrupt drive, as long as it is still spins. I have used them. It can take days, but I recently recovered 6TB of data on two 3TB drives that I mistakenly deleted the volumes on. I got very close to 100%, but it did take several days of processing where my server was pinned at 100% CPU and 8GB memory in use. But it was worth it. Now there are companies that can get data off of a hard drive that has even been in a fire. It can be very expensive, but these companies will usually give you a free quote. You might get lucky. Also, you didn't respond to my question about the iPad data. If you have the persoanl data in there, you could be just a simple programming task away from getting it back. | | | Thanks for your support.

Well in my opinion many people give up far too easily, but that's your choice if you have decided. I still don't know what you mean by "dead," and what you think is too expensive. Anyway, my suggestion on the ipad is simple. Back it up. Save the data while you research the issue. Of course Invelos knows the data format. Why not open a trouble ticket? Also, somebody might come along later and see these posts and offer to convert the data for you. Personally, I do not know the Apple environment, otherwise it would be a fun challenge. - did you try the drive on another computer? - did you try plugging into a USB cabinet or converter? - if the drive is not mechanically broken inside, and you have an electronics friend, you could try changing the outside control board on the drive (not on the inside - that's impossible) | | | Thanks for your support.

I update my DB online from Invelos.
Comparing to the iPhone DB it misses several profiles, so the question is: when i sync with the Send Changes turned on, shouldn't at least the missing files and the chances be on my PC ? | | | | Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! |
