since an hour ago or so Amazon.com and its other sites do not havy any pictures.
Is something wrong with my Firefox, or is this a general problem?

I also have a continuous "Server not found" (time-out) error on us.imdb.com. Other sites like eg www.ebay.com or www.davestrailerpage.co.uk or www.invelos.com work without any problems.

Have you tried clearing the Firefox cache, restart the computer and try to visit those same sites? |

I tried Internet Explorer, same. I was in such a desperate state that I even switched off the Windows Firewall and entered ipconfig /flushdns. Nothing. I was sure now, some evil forces had hijacked my computer, damned. I connected a second PC to the FRITZ!Box, same. So no software problem. I checked for firmware updates and installed one, resetted to factory defaults, switched the router off and on again, same. Still couldn't resolve some domain names. (Amazon eg fails to load its pictures from eg images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com, or ecx.images-amazon.com...). | | Posted: | | | | bbbbb is back in business, the provider has reconfigured its DNS name servers. Work around was to tell the LAN Internet Protocol to use another DNS server, like 8.8.8.8 for Google Public DNS. Maybe I should keep that.
