When I got into Blu-ray, I was determined not to buy them faster than I could watch as I did with DVD. It hasn't worked out that way. In 2011, I went from 322 unwatched discs to 396. On average, I bought six a week I never watched. By percentage, I dropped from 60% unwatched to 54%, so I made some progress there. I had hoped for a big push at the end of the year where I watched a bunch, but my best friend for most of my adult life died of an apparent stroke at 29 on December 23rd, wrecking the rest of the year for me.

Maybe I'll do some catching up this year, but considering I just bought twenty-four discs on Amazon's Twilight Zone sale and haven't watched anything thus far, so it's not looking good.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Ace.  Best wishes for the new year.

Very sorry to read this as well. It's obviously a big loss, affecting you as strongly as you write.

I don't normally respond to this sort of thread, but I can honestly say I really felt for you Ace. I lost a close friend of 17 years two years ago and I know how devastating it feels.

As for the watching...I've been unemployed for the past few years so my unwatched pile of DVDs had gone from approx 100 to 12. And, any new blu-rays are watched within a few days of purchase.
But, my partner, who works full time, still had about 150 unwatched DVDs and about 6 bd's.

I know if I had a job I'd be buying a lot more and would probably be in back to where I was. And, if you're anything like me, you sometimes think to yourself: "Why am I buying these? I don't have time to watch the new stuff, let alone rewatch anything!"

Anyway, once again, very sorry for your loss!

I'm so sorry for your loss Ace.

I'm falling way behind as well. Six months ago I was down to 11 titles unwatched. Today it stands at 126, between movies and TV series .

53,2% of my collection is unwatched. To get down to 50% this year, I'll have to watch 270 titles more than I'm buying. Maybe that should be my new years resolution?

You're kidding right? Your collection consists of 8,426 profiles according to your online collection. You're saying that you haven't watched over 4,000 titles in your collection? . Holy crap, Batman!!!

This was her favorite movie scene. We were going to watch Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus when she got back from her trip to PA.

Only 29 years old

I hope that you and his loved ones recover well. The great memories will always be with you.
