Has anyone noticed exceptionally long load times for the latest Universal Blu-ray releases?

Some of the latest releases like the Jurassic Park trilogy, Fast Five and Hanna take forever to load (well over 5 minutes) and sometimes just stop loading altogether requiring me to reload the disc.

I'm using a Panasonic DMP-BDT100 with the latest firmware.

I am not seeing that with my PS3. Some take longer, maybe 20-25 seconds, but that's about it.

Universal Blu-rays usually download a ton of trailers via BD-Live when you load the disc, and play those before the disc goes to the main menu. If your player is connected to the net with a slower connection, it can often take longer to load their discs.

My connection is fine...6mbs Down/512kbs Up. I have other titles from other studios that load BD-Live trailers and don't take anywhere near as long to load. I'll try it on my PS3 tonight when I get home to see if there is a difference. I'll also disable BD-Live on the Panny to see if that helps.

If your Blu-Ray player isn't streaming data to your local network it's probably better to simply disconnect it from your LAN.
Simply disabling BD-Live sometimes causes more trouble than it solves.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I've had BD-Live turned off since the day after I purchased my Oppo but I'm curious what you mean... What specific problems can it cause that I haven't noticed while playing over 600 discs?

Haven't personally found out yet.
But I remember having read that some Blu-Rays refused to play when BD-Live was disabled.

Currently scanning for sources, I'll come up again when I found it.

I can now confirm that BD-Live is the culprit. I turned off BD-Live on my Panasonic Blu-ray player and during loading of "Jurassic Park" the message "Cannot connect to network. Please confirm Network Settings or BD-Live Internet Access in Setup" popped up 5 times during the load process, but even so, it only took 45 seconds from inserting the disc to get to the main menu. Even on the Main Menu, the message continues to pop up.

With BD-Live turned on it took 5 minutes to get to the Main Menu.
