From Dorka Nieradzik To Dorka Nieradzik [Dorka Nieradzik Mbe]
MBE is short for Member of the Order of the British Empire.
From my understanding, this is a an "Order of Chivalry" and the lowest step on the way to being a Knight, and being able to use the title of Sir.
Would it be treated as a title (included in credited as), or more as an association (excluded)?
Aside from the fact that, it should be MBE and not Mbe. |

| Posted: | | | | I'd treat it as an association, since actual titles are more in the lines of "Dame", "Duchess" or similar.
But maybe we should ask our British members if MBE is actually a title. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Cast, as a rule, don't show associations. I think it should be allowed in the credited as assuming: 1) It is actually on screen 2) The case is fixed From the Rules (MBE would be equivalent to the USMC in the example) : Quote: Example: a credit of "Cpl. John Smith, USMC" should be entered as First Name: "John", Last Name "Smith", Credited As "Cpl. John Smith, USMC" | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | This isn't a cast entry. It is a crew entry for Makeup Artist. Crew do show associations (sound, editor, DoP, etc).
Is this like a guild association, or more like "USMC"?

| Posted: | | | | Yes, it should be MBE and I would think we should treat it the same way as 'Sir'. It is not a guild association. It is an award given out by the Queen during her annual Birthday Honours.

| Posted: | | | | I didn't see an answer to tweeters question but, if it is part of the on-screen credit, then I don't see why it shouldn't be entered. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Dorka Nieradzik [Dorka Nieradzik MBE] I assume that would go for OBE, CBE, KBE(DBE), or GBE if presented. Charlie |
