| Posted: | | | | For the BluRay copies of West Side Story that MGM released on November 15th both the DigiBook and the HDSlim versions share the same UPC ( 883904-245230 ). After the UPC there is an extra two digit code; 80 for the HDSlim and 81 for the DigiBook. The twelve digit part that we use is the same for both.
Has anyone seen this on other releases? If it becomes common will could have a real issue for the database!
Ken, any thoughts on this?

Because I created the digibook one in the database, there is a profile for the BD-Slim (or Iassumed) with UPC 883904245216 that was already out there.
Since I have the digibook and the UPC did not match the one in the DB I created the new - digibook version.
Interesting that the two UPC's match |

| Posted: | | | | I found another
The Sound of Music UPC 024543672920
The one in the database is for HD-Slim and has the extra 80. I have the digibook and it ends in 81
I wonder if it has something to do with them being target exclisive digibooks distributed by Fox. Or just Fox digibooks distributed distributed the same time as the BD case.
I checked the other Fox digibooks and they all have different UPC's than the BD release, but these were the only two where the BD and digibook were released together | | | Last edited: by Scooter1836 |

I've seen it a few times on BDs. I see it all the time on printed publications. Basically on printed publications the extra two digits are the issue number. If you pick up Comics or Magazines you see this all the time. |
