| Posted: | | | | Now I did not make this box set However if you extract it you will see the four child movies
{From the Minds of the} Coen Brothers UPC 024543731870 Blood Simple is using the profile for UPC 883904217763 Raising Arizona is using the profie for UPC 024543706908 Miiller's Crossing is using the UPC profile 024543706892 Faro is using the UPC Profile 883904138556
Now first off this is a set that contains the 4 individual HD-Slim for the individual releases
The first problem is the UPC for Blood Simple that is in the box set is not correct. It should be 88390424130. I purchased this box set on day one and it is a relatively new release so I am sure ny set is correct for the initial release.
Now each of the UPC's applied to this box set are in fact releases to themselves so they all have a SRP
Now with one thing being that it should be tied to the correct Blood Simple UPC. Isn't there another underlying problem in that all the children have UPC's and SRP's when the parent is supposed to have the SRP.
However the riles do state
"Create individual profiles for each movie in these Box Sets. Use individual UPCs if they are available or use Disc ID (read on a DVD-ROM) if not. Create each of these individual profiles in line with the standard Contribution Rules with one exception - Cover Images. If a film is individually packaged, use the cover images from that packaging."
Now since this is a box set that contains the individual UPC's and in fact each movie is the same individual package of the individual releases I would think just fix the UPC it is mapped to so that it is the correct one. But is that ok since each UPC has a SRP?
I can see No votes cming because of this
On the other hand I can create Disc ID based profiles to clear the SRP in the children. However because of thise section of the rule "Cover Images. If a film is individually packaged, use the cover images from that packaging." I can see No votes coming from that because the images contain the UPC and they they would be Disc ID based profile. But those images should be retained since they are individually packaged.
What would be the best way to proceed? | | | Last edited: by Scooter1836 |

| Posted: | | | | I googled the UPC and it appears that the current UPC for Blood Simple is a BD/DVD Combo that was released on March 8, 2010. Looking at the profile for Blood Simple, there's not even a back cover submitted yet! So I'm guessing the person who created the child profile disc didn't realize that a BD-only UPC was being used for the box set. Your contribution to with the correct UPC for Blood Simple is right. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |
