ALCS and NLCS, league championships. These series will decide which teams from each league play in the World Series.

My SF Giants screwed the pooch in the end...so no repeat . I'd like to see the Tigers and the Cardinals in the end...Go Tigers   .

At least your Giants didn't collapse as horrifically as my Red Sox. Yikes, that was painful to watch.  At least the Yankees didn't make it past the ALDS.

Well here in STL, don't have much else to root for.  The Rams (overhyped) collapsed before the season started and the Blues are perennial "close but not cigar", so the Cardinals are it

Why is it in every thread about North American sport, someone has to bring up rugby. To infer North Americans are wussies at sport

Every sport has a degree of toughness. Baseball 90MPH fastballs at your body. Taking the 2nd Baseman out with cleats high. Football Recievers crossing the middle. Hockey checks into the boards & high sticking. Basketball going up for a rebound and getting an elbow in the head. Soccer.................?

Are we gonna have a rain delay every time Verlander pitches this postseason? 2 of 3 games, and the 3nd game would'nt have happened if not for the first delay...

I'm not even gonna start with the strike zone last night, I'll just say that it far from a level playing field. There's visual proof to back me up if anyone has that game on dvr. I saw at least 10 pitches from Justin called balls that were well inside the strike zone, including the one just before the game winning home run that he had to hang up to try and get a call. I saw at least 3 called strikes for Texas that missed the zone by 3-8 inches. To be fair, I also saw this reversed, but far far less. Umps need to go back to a standard strike zone, making their own for each game is BS. It's knees to letters and across the plate right? Now it's knees to belt and half the plate? They won't give ya the outside on righthanded hitter, that's where all the missed strike calls were.

Ever since the revisions to the rules which created the "modern" baseball era, they've tinkered with the rules and the ruling to attempt to keep the stats relatable to the previous years. They lowered the mound when the pitchers were dominating. They changed the ball to give fewer homers (or more). And the umpires collude to change the strike zone, year after year. The key is ballance. Is often fails, but what are you going to do when there are legal steroid-like routines which create another system-wide imbalance? Some hitter's strikezones are in their left ear.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

2011 Baseball World Cup in Panama:

Ooops, Dutch team to finals after beating Cuba 4-1. Cuba won Olympic gold medals twice and silver three times (1992-2008).
