| Posted: | | | | Hallo, we have a problem in Germany with the TV Series „Merlin - Die neuen Abenteuer” on DVD [EAN 5050582741216 and 5050582753936]. Status: Fact 1: Universal Pictures distributed to Dec 03, 2009 a Boxset „Merlin - Die neuen Abenteuer Vol. 1” containing 3 DVDs. It should have 6 Episodes on Disc 1 and 2 and Bonus Material on Disc 3. Reality was on first release, that Disc 3 contained already Episode 7-9 instead of Bonus Material. Fact 2: Universal Pictures distributed to Feb 04, 2010 a Boxset „Merlin - Die neuen Abenteuer Vol. 2” containing 3 DVDs. It contains again 3 DVDs. Disc 1 with Episodes 7-9, Disc 2 with Episodes 10-13 and Disc 3 with new, different Bonus Material. And a Inlay with Info how to get the correct Disc 3 of Vol. 1.
Now the Problem: Rules say that you have to contribute everything like it was by first release. But due to the reason that these are Boxsets it is now impossible to contribute Disc 1 of Vol.2 because it already exists as Disc 3 of Vol.1. And it is not possible to contribute the new Disc 3 of Vol.1 with the preplaned Bonus.
My Intension: I would prefer that we get a agreement and anounce here as a statement to contribute the preplaned status: Vol.1: Disc 1 Episodes 1-3 (no change) Disc 2 Episodes 4-6 (no change) Disc 3 Bonus Material (change instead of Episodes 7-9)
Vol.2: as distributed
Although the Rules are different, this would be nice for all members collecting these TV Series on DVD.

| Posted: | | | | For future reference, you will probably want to post on the German forum: http://www.dvdprofiler-forum.de/They tend to not like it when you bring issues involving German releases to the forums here. Just giving you a heads up! | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

I vaguely remember the incident you probably are referring to. It was a remark of a German user (not a moderator at dvdprofiler-forum.de) which was blown out of proportion. In that incident it was about something which really only affected German profiles. It was about a convention which the German contributors happily lived by for years but was strictly speaking against the rules because the rules didn't consider non-English profiles. I don't remember what exactly it was. Of course that stirred up some heated discussions here and that could have been avoided. But the problem presented here is something, which can affect any locality, so I don't see a problem discussing it here. | | |

I don't remember what exactly it was. IIRC it was about the usage of dashes in the title when it's not an episode descriptor like "Léon - Der Profi". But I also think that it shouldn't be discuraged to bring valid questions to the official board. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
