Some weeks ago i bought the german release of the tv-series "babylon 5". after adding all the seasons to the profiler i was wondering why some disc of the boxset have other covers and includes the whole cast & crew for all episodes and running time. After writing some pms i knew that someone used those discs on other releases as boxsets.

My intention with this thread is to know if i'm allowed to restore those discs to their original status.

As example you can have a look at the ean "7321921228551". The first disc has got an incorrect cover, running time, cast & crew, overview and title.

If you have documentation that your data really mirrors the data of the first release feel free to correct the profiles.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

If these were released as individual seasons first, then the original releases take precedence over the box set. So the child profiles (providing the Disc IDs are the same) should be for the original season-by-season sets.

This problem is known and you won't win against the voters.

Originally B5 was released per season, first in digibooks and then later in slim cases.

Then a complete box set was released. It contained all 5 seasons and the movies. And while the seasons were individually packed, they had no EAN of their own. So people used the DiscID of the first disc as season identifier instead of adding all discs directly to the complete set.

This stems from the history that disc profiles were (and are) optional and complete box sets were a rarity at that time.

Now this box set is established that way and people will vote against any change even if that means that you won't get a clean set of discs for the original released seasons.

yup... there should be a padlock icon in the general section of the profile (where you see genres, studios, production year and such). Just right click that and you can either lock the entire profile or lock just sections of the profile.

If you don't see the icon you can also get to it by going to DVD-->Lock

Or you can right-click the Title and go to Lock there.

So there is a few ways to get to it.
