| | Posted: | | | | I have used this feature several times in the past. I believe there is a key-combo with F11 to activate it as well, instead of using the menus.
For some reason, I cannot find this option anymore. There is nothing in the menus. Also, I googled and another way to do it is flag the profiles to do it with, and then go to Collection -> Flagged -> Check for Child Profiles. But I simply don't have the option in the Flagged submenu ??!
Am I going mad or is something wrong with my DVD Profiler resulting in this option being hidden or sth ? |

To flag a profile, either right click on it and check "Flag" or do it by DVD -> Flag | | | | Corey |

Online > Refresh DVD from Invelos > Check for Child Profiles
and also the way you listed.
Have you tried to change the language to standard English (US)?
If this won't help, I would try first the Database Repair Utility, you can find this in
Start > All Programms > DVD Profiler
and if this won't work I would Backup the Database, remove DVD Profiler and install it again. | | | Hardy

The only things I have are : * Refresh Profile and Images * Refresh Profile Only * Refresh Images Only * Preview Changes... * Preview Image Changes... The language is set to English (US) and I don't have any other languages installed. I'll try the Database Repair next. |

It's definitely a client thing though. I also have DVDP on my netbook (I have the database on my file server) and there I don't have the problem. So at least I can already use my netbook now to check for child profiles.
Still bums me that it's gone on my desktop PC. I wonder whether layouts have anything to do with it, as Staid seems to imply above. On my desktop I have a custom big-screen layout I downloaded from the website here. On my netbook I use the default one, due to limited screenspace obviously. |

Go to "Commands", then "Online" and select "Check for Child Profiles" on the right side. Now click and drag this entry up to the menu, hover over "Online" until it opens, then "Refresh DVD from Invelos" and drop the entry there. HTH  | | | Karsten

When you decide to use a layout that was created before this function was added to DVDP then the layout file does not contain this menu entry. Another way to fix this would be to reset the layout to one of the default layouts. | | | Karsten

One thing I often forget is that the "Check for Child Profiles" feature won't work if I am using the ALL tab. It will work if I use the other tabs, OWNED, ORDERED, and WISHLIST, but for some reason, the option isn't available or shown if I have the ALL tab opened. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

You can not add profiles (including child profiles) to the All tab, since profiles need to be assigned to any one of the other tabs and the All tab is just a compilation. A solution would have been to automatically assign child profiles to the tab where the parent profile resides, but unfortunately that is not the case (and sometimes this leads to strange behaviour when moving profiles between tabs). | | | | Hans |
