After seeing the trailer for Apollo 18, promising what seemed liked an original sci-fi/horror ladened with suspense, mystery, horror and conspiracy. I went in anticipation to one of my local cinemas yesterday, only to be bitterly disappointed.

No sooner than 10 minutes elapsed, had my eye lids started to go heavy. At is core nothing is believable, and nor does it even attempt to evoke any believability.

It's a predicable crass boring, boring, boring! Unashamedly clichéd Blair Witch takes a holiday to the moon. That occasionally makes attempts to warrant your attention by having things jump in front of the camera. Only to 5 minutes later want to put you back to sleep again.

It should never have gotten to theatres, and had just been released straight to DVD. Then following week be in a bargain bin at the checkout in supermarkets, and forgotten all about.

always a good idea to check out the reviews before you spend your hard earned money ...
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

I seen it just as it came out. I was at friends on friday and stayed over there, and never had time to check  the early reviews.

Still i guess going in blind was a bit stupid.

A shame; I had thought it a promising premise.

The Simpson's episode Deep Space Homer. The boring space launch scene sums up my feelings about the character development.

  There's a mathematician, a different
_kind_ of mathematician, and a statistician.

Do you know the difference between an introvert and an extrovert mathematician?

Spoiler:  (Select to view)
An extrovert mathematician is looking at YOUR shoes rather than his own...

Did this movie fall for the same trap as 2001 fell into where they made the movie so realistic that it bored the crap out of most people?

Drifting in space? No problem! No noise, no music, no ambient, only breathing.

No Dr K because 2001 had brains and real artistic vision. While im not a fan of 2001, i respect why it has an audience.

Excuse me?  2001: ASO is the 40th most thrilling American film ever made*.

AFI's 100 most thrilling films

---------------
* As of 2001 (coincidentally?)

25.Titanic
94. The China Syndrome

So i take it the experiment to see if Chimps can compile a credible list of top 100 films failed then?

I've never seen either of those films so I can't comment.  (But they don't sound very thrilling, so you may have a point.)

The China Syndrome is fantastic.

Titanic.....well seeing how they put the whole sinking of the ship together on film was entertaining.

But i prefer A Night To Remember with good old Kenneth Moore, for a quality film about the Titanic.

My favorite with the Titanic sinking is The Unsinkable Molly Brown (1964) (Debbie Reynolds)
