Running DVDp 3.7.2 1444 on Windows 7 64 bit.
Tried 'search' for a previously reported incident of this bug, but it timed out everytime. so sorry if this is old news.

Using the 'replace' feature on cast, as follows (edit a profile):
Actor John X to be replaced by actor John X birth year 19xx (whatever) on a title, afterwards:
The credit count for John X by 19xx increments by 1 as it should,
The credit count for John X (without by) remains the same, though it should now be one less.
(save the profile)

Going to the next title for a replacement, same increment, but the credit count of the replaced actor remains at the original count. Both on the top level filter window and within a Profile Edit/Cast window.

When all credits are removed and the profile used to edit the characters (when can we finally edit cast and crew outside a profile <sigh>) closed and reopened, and the credit count still remains (erroneously) >0, the actor can be deleted.

Changing all titles concerned with the actor-to-be-replaced, closing down the program and restarting it, the credit count for John X is finally 0.

So, addition and deletion logic works fine, but apparently, some refreshes on the 'credit count' seem to be missing.

"On the Fly"-refresh for databases isn't that common.

DVDProfiler seems to refresh it's data only at startup. So if you find this incorrect counts to be annoying simply close and open the program. The counter will be correct then.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I already found out that closing and opening DVDp resolves counting issue: see OP.

Counter argument to letting it rest is that if a new title <-> cast member connection is made, the credit count is increased by one as soon as you reopen the Edit Profile/Cast window. In other words, the original design of the Edit Profile/Cast window was made with the on the fly refresh in mind. Obviously, such a refresh statement exists after the 'add' part of a 'replace' but was lost somewhere in the programming of the delete part of a 'replace'.

Also, whenever you add a new title <-> cast member connection and exit that profile with "OK", you'll find that both the Cast window (of any title where that cast member has a role) and the Filters/Cast window will display the new incremented value. In other words, On the fly refresh is very much part of the design of the DVDp interface.

Just my 2 ct's.

Additional testing: whenever you add a connection, the credit count is increased (filters/Cast, Cast windows). But deletion, whether by 'replace' or 'delete' does not decrement.

It looks like a small bug that could easily be fixed.
The actual count is decreased after all, which you can see by the fact that it is possible to remove an actor with (internal) count of 0. It is only the number shown on the screen that is no longer in sync with the actual number, after a decrease.

One can often do a "wholesale" search using Google - never times out   In the Google search box:
Your Search Strings +site:.invelos.com

Can't directly search a particular forum, but entering forum name as one search term might reduce the number of hits.  But often you can find what you want on the first page of results.

This bug has been around for awhile. I don't remember which version it started in. I reported it in the beta release forums when I noticed it, but received no response.
