Figured out the problem after poking around some more.  I don't see a way to delete my post, sadly.

In Edit Custom Categories, check the box for "Include contents in owned collection".

When you create/edit your new collection categories, there is a checkbox
"Include contents in owned collection".

I do not think the custom categories will display within the online, but I believe since they will be flagged as owned, then they will.  (Just not as neat as your personal display)

Found it, thanks :-)  It's nice to have so many options, but it also makes things a pain when it's this early in the morning and I'm not awake!

For future reference, it would be better to have left the question there. Maybe someone else might have the same question. Now we have answers for a question that no longer exists.
