| Posted: | | | | I am updating the DVD Galaxy Quest UPC 667068-601725.
I removed "Thermian Language Audio Track" from Other Features on the DVD .
This language is listed as Other on the Audio Track menu.
Should it also be listed as a feature? Or not? | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

| Posted: | | | | It is a useful piece of additional information for an unusual audio track.
The Rules say don't use the Other Features box where a Features checkbox already covers it. But the Audio track isn't covered by a Features check box.
I'd leave it alone. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! | | | Last edited: by tweeter |

| Posted: | | | | This depends on what it actually is. If it really only is and Audio Track in a (fantasy) language the listing in the Audio Tracks should suffice. But if it's something else (e.g. a commentary) only under a strange name, it should be listed in the extras as such. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | The heading for the part of the database where we record the language is called Audio Tracks, which also includes Commentary and Audio Descriptives, as well as having an option of Other.
If there's a separate Thermian language audio track encoded onto the DVD, I'd be inclined to treat it exactly like an audio track in a language that's not specifically listed in the Audio Tracks' Content drop-down box and record it as Other.
Having said that, it's quite a cool thing to have noted as an Other Feature!

Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... | | | Last edited: by SpikyCactus |

Hopefully the other readers are getting what I was aiming at. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I can only give my thoughts on the subject... since as far as I can see this situation isn't covered in the rules. And I don't remember Ken or Gerri commenting on it so...
Since it is just an audio track and we do have other in the audio track field... in my eyes that is all that is needed. I don't see any need to add the track (any language... real or not) to Other Features.
So the contribution gets a yes vote from me. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | This seems to be a gray area not covered by the rules.
Since this data is already in the database I am going to withdraw this contribution since I am not positive the current data is wrong. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

| Posted: | | | | I say leave it in. Sure it maybe covered by the audio section, but Other Audio is very, very vague. It could mean anything and since we can't enter what it is exactly I think adding it in the Other Features fits. By having it in the Other Features is adds value as it completely describes what the other audio track is. This is a very unique/unusual case and can't be fully covered by just clicking on the other audio. The only way it's covered is in the Other Features section. The old DVD's back cover clearly shows it listed as a Special Feature. As does the recent re-release |
