Hello All

I’m attempting to audit Bilitis (4897007030712) to update the online database entry for this DVD.

The opening credits contain “Sylvio Tabet & Jacques Hahum Present”. (The credit block says “Sylvio Tabet & Jacques Harum presents...”.)  Also, the Credit Lookup Tool gives no credits to either spelling of Hahum/Harum.

The opening/end credits have no Producer credit anywhere.

The credit block (but not the opening/end credits) credits Catherine Berillat as the Producer.

Sylvio Tabet is credited in the end credits as the Executive Producer.

For information, Nether Wikipedia or IMD credit Jacques Hahum/Harum as anything, but do credit two more people as producers that I can't find listed as such anywhere in the credits or on the sleeve.

1)  Should I credit Sylvio Tabet & Jacques Hahum/Harum as producers, nothing, or something else?

2)  Should I credit Catherine Berillat as a producer or not?

For what it’s worth, I think the answer to both is strictly no, although I’m less sure about the first as the wording in the Rules is very close to what's given in this case.  I'm pretty sure I've seen this sort of thing contributed and accepted too.

Thanks for your thoughts  -  Paul
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

Question 1): "XYZ presents" doesn't justify a Producer entry in DVDProfiler, an "A John Doe production" would.

Question 2): If it is correct that Catherine Berillat doesn't appear in the credits, then she should be removed from the profile.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Tabet should get a credit as Executive Producer.

We do not currently credit Presenters, so if you want to track them you should keep them local.

You would credit them as producers if it said "a Sylvio Tabet & Jacques Hahum production" rather than "Present".

I would not list Berillat as Producer since the credit is only in the credit block, and there is no on-screen credit.

"So & So Present" isn't a valid, creditable thing.  We would add nothing on-line from that.

Berillat's Producer credit.  I'm tempted to say No (i wouldn't for sure).  I think packaging can substitute for credits when there are No credits, but i'm not sure if they are usable when there are film credits.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

I believe this is correct as well, as far as the substitution goes.  I also take credits from the credit block when the credits are in a different alphabet (Cyrillic, Kanji, Arabic, etc.) and are not subtitled.  Fortunately this does not happen very often.

Thanks for that.  The Nos seem to have it.

It makes the contribution nice and simple too!

Best wishes  -  Paul
