Looks more like a remake than a prequel, but want to see it anyway.

Thanks for posting

This one's story is set to begin three days before the 1982 version, with characters who are the ghosts of the '82 film. More of the interior of the alien's spaceship with be shown.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Useless waste of time. What happen to the Norvegian team is explain in the movie, no need to waste 20$ on a piece of CGI crapfest to know it...

Almost as stupid as the americanized remake of Straw Dogs is

WTF a girl had to do in this movie

I suppose it'll be fun for the kids who didn't get to experience either of the other ones, but I'll stick with Carpenter, thank you.

Not negative... realist
But honestly who care about what I think of a movie except me of course

I'm not the target for that kind of stuff anyway as I'm 41, I don't like CGI and I can't stand movie theatre

The story was published in 1938 and considered a science fiction classic. Written by John W. Campbell under his Don A. Stuart pen name in Astounding Science-Fiction. Cambell was the editor of the magazine. You can read the story here.

Which makes it a bona fide Remake of the Original "The thing from another World" (1951)

In case it gets removed

I would watch the movie. It would remind me how good John Carpenter's The Thing with Kurt Russell was.

You just have to watch it to remind you this... What is the point of giving them money for that

I had no intention of seeing this, but the trailer gives me hope. It looks like they got the tone and feel right, despite having chicks. The original is my favorite horror movie of ever and I wanted nothing to do with this, but after watching the trailer, I will go see it.

Haven't see n the American Straw Dogs but can only imagine how much the point was missed.

While it was expected to be a prequel I saw potential in this; despite know how it will end (many movies open with the ending, so that is not necessariyl a problem). But when I saw the trailer and see that it's more of a remake, my interest dropped drastically...

May still see it anyway.

This seems as good a place as any to share a link I show everyone I can:

It's a brilliant re-telling of The Thing, from the Thing's point of view.
