| Posted: | | | | There are lots of theatrical lease studios in different countries, so I was wondering how you tell which one to go with. |

If in doubt only enter those that have credits like "XYZ presents", "A XYZ Presentation" or similar | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I remember reading this thread which included a poll on the question:
"What field, if any, should local theatrical distributing studio for foreign movies occupy?"
and the biggest answer by far was:
"They do not belong on current DVD profiler profile"
So where are different theatrical releasing companies for different countries ...
What if the theatrical releasing company doesn't appear in the film credits?
What if I get a jumble of credits and one of them is fingered in IMDB as the USA theatrical releasing agency?
What if there is no USA theatrical releasing agency (or none apparent)?
I'd settle for links to a few more threads where this is discussed in detail. |

This film has end credits.
The media splashes at the front are for:
Media Entertainment and Think Film
una coproduzione italo-francese medusa film - manigolda film in collaborazione con sky una realizzazione juppiter generale cinematografica srl
Outsider pictures is on the rear cover art & gets notice from IMDB as the theatrical distributor for USA. |

| Posted: | | | | I would start by entering the production companies in the studio field, since they appear to come from the actual film credits and not from some tacked on opening logos.
Then I would probably enter Media Entertainment and Think Film as media companies, assuming they performed at least one of the following functions: Publisher, licensor or distributor. If you are unsure you can always leave them out.
I would not enter Outsider Pictures as a studio since they were not responsible for the original theatrical release. Unfortunately, how you do it is up to you since the rules make no distinction between original and local theatrical releases, most likely because they were written with American films in mind. But since this isn't an American film, it makes little sense to include them, imho. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

From the DVD / movie:
Splash Miramax Home Entertainment
Splash Mirimax Films
Credit Roll Zenith Presents
in association with
Channel Four Films
Team
Pandora
Mikado
Electric
a
Good Machine / Zenith Production
Zenith gets the (c) in the end credits.
IMDB credits the film to three different countries.
I watched this film in an indie theater when originally released here, so part of me wants to go with:
Miramax Films (theatrical distribution) Zenith Entertainment (production) Channel Four Films (production) Miramax Home Entertainment (DVD distribution)
Don't know if I should leave off one Miramax due to naming it twice or what. |

| Posted: | | | | Miramax Home Entertainment is the DVD distributor, so goes in the MC field. Miramax Films is the theatrical distributor and, because they are also a film studio, they go in the Studio field...not my logic, but it is what it is. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
