| Posted: | | | | So I'm sure Ill get alot of flack for this but here goes...
I have a real problem with rereleases, Ive never been one to contribute and I really dont know how to make a good scan of cover art so I dont try but Im getting realy tired of the recent rereleases out there with minor changes being say no digital copies.
A good example is the rumor of Back to the Future being at Target next week for 14.99 but may not include the DC therefore the cover art in my collecection will not match the actual Blu ray I own. Or the rumored True Grit 2010 for 14.99 and possibly no DC, now I could care less about the DC or not but as I said with it having the same UPC my actual blurays will not match my online collection.
I wish there was a way we could contribute rerelease cover art.
Does anyone have a redemy for this or am I just being silly? |

| Posted: | | | | There are a couple of places that the community posts re-release scans:
http://mail.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=422971&PageNum=1
http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=506470&PageNum=1
The other DVD site I visit (http://www.dvdcollectorsonline.com) also posted a place for cover scans for your local database:

| Posted: | | | | For now the threads/sites Kathy mentioned is the only option. But I do agree that I would like to see something happen through Invelos. I would love the ability to be able to add re-release cover arts to the profile and it ask me which cover art I have before the download. But that is a feature request only Ken can take care of.
Anything before that... like allowing the re-release to take place of the original cover art I would be against. Even with as many re-release covers as I have... I still believe that original release info is more important to keep in the database. Too many people is going to have that original release... and their original info shouldn't be replaced online. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I completely agree, I dont want to do anything to falsify the data, but another good example for me is The Rite single disc which was never contributed except from me but with no rear cover art becouse I couldnt find it anywhere but I did find the front which I contributed.
I just dont like to see covers a few weeks or monthes down the road rereleased just to not include the DC per say. |

Rory Hold on to your receipt. You might need it for a price adjustment next week. http://forum.blu-ray.com/movie-tv-deals/174366-target-ad-6-12-6-18-a.html |

| Posted: | | | | I always will just lock in re-release scans locally if that's what I have. Hopefully one day we can keep and choose all the cover options (I somewhat do now with the pictures tab, but those can't be contributed) for the UPC. This will be extra great as more OOP dvds get their UPC's re-used on Blu-rays like Stir of Echoes did already in another thread! |

Maybe one day we wull be able to deal with re-erelease covers but that day is not toiday, like it or not. The Online to date can only deal with ONE set of covers period. The decision was made that the set of covers would be for the Originally released covers, Any ew-elwased covers then are NOT Conbtributable, no matter what the reason or excuse. All you can do at this point is use re-released cxovers locally only and wait to see if the Online can ever accept multiple covers, maybe 4.0 will bring this. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!
