But apparently the person behind the counter was too much in a hurry when they sold the DVD.... and forgot to take the lock off the DVD in the case. I am sure my friend that sent me this just didn't (as she bought a bunch of ex-rentals recently) notice it. Anyway I am now stuck... not able to get the DVD out of the case. Is there any way I can actually get this disc out of the case without damaging the disc? I really want to see this movie... so I am a little desperate here! | | | | Pete |

| | Posted: | | | | Can't take a picture right now... but here is a (sloppy) mock-up of what the lock looks like. On the hub... over top the disc is something that looks like...  The center circle is a grey piece sticking up just a little higher then the lock base. The 4 other circles are just indentation in the plastic base. the 4 rectangles are slits in the lock looks like some type of 4 prong key to go into? I know it isn't nearly as good as a picture... but hopefully that helps. | | | | Pete |

If so, you could take the artwork out of the case and cut down the back of the case to free the dvd from the back. You can always get replacement cases.

I tore the case to pieces... only to find there is a disc made into the back case as well... broke the plastic around the disc... but now there is a thin plastic disc on the back and thick plastic disc on the front of the disc... no way to remove it. Also this locking case it is in... seems this spool the disc locks in is a metal covered in plastic.

Then the only other suggestion i can think of is to connect a lock smith and ask if he can remove a magnetic lock. He should not ask any question and if he does say you got them off Ebay. |
