The dashes are not added by the users but by the program (possibly for better readability).
Those dashes do not influence the search by EAN/UPC.

If the EAN in your example is one of those causing the trouble could you give the title of this DVD too?
The EAN doesn't seem to be in the database, so I would like to crosscheck via title.

Here are some examples of what lammezak might have came across. I guess it were simply slightly wrong UPCs and the most obvious thing to see first is that the profiler sets the dashes differently if it's 12 or 13 numbers:

Berlin, Berlin: Staffel 4 is in the database as 828767-127194 and 0-828767-127194
I think the second UPC with 13 numbers is wrong but it's created by the ASIN (amazon article numbers) to EAN converter here:

Pretty nice tool in combination with the ordered and wishlist features but not perfect because it seems like it always adds a 0 if an EAN has only 12 numbers and that 'new' EAN is perfectly accepted by the profiler but won't find the 'corrrect' 12 numbered profile.

This one is a bit harder to see:

Journey To Promethea: 912002-734565 & 9-120027-345654
In this case the first one with 12 digits is wrong. It's missing the last number and entering the full EAN didn't bring up a profile untill a few days ago when it was uploaded again with the correct number.
