This is not a question about DVDs, but does anyone know a program that is as good or equal to DVD Profiler, but for CD (Music)?
And couldn't the Invelos software develop a program, but for music?

If the forum search had worked wonders for you... You'd have found many many requests for this - dating way back...

Having Invelos develop a solution would be highly unlikely - imho, but these tend to come up when the question is asked:

They could, but they haven't in ten years so come to your own conclusion. You can setup a CD collection but the CD data is NOT Contributable.

Why haven't they? I can only give you my opinion on the matter. We have a terrific database for film that is user-built, this is both good and bad. The bad side is that we have recalcitrant users who simply want to create methods to include their own preferences in the database despite what our Rules say. This results in sometimes hostile arguments and sometimes very repettitive arguments and threads. Would it be worth the poyential income to deal with another set of reluctant users who want things their way instead of the Invelos way? Who knows.

It depends on what you want: functionality or aesthetics.

I personally use MediaMan for my CDs/Books/Board Games etc because I love the virtual shelf look and the tagging system.
I'm also using BookTome for my books (while I watch its development).

However, for more fields and more specialist features try Music Collector from Collectorz.com or Music Label.

But, as far as DVDs are concerned there simply isn't another program on the market that is as good as DVDProfiler!

Just to throw my two cents in, try CATraxx.  I've tried them all, and this is the most versital program I have found.

Looks like a nice program.
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

I think a CD Profiler type program wouldnt make that much money. Do people still buy CD's? I used to until iTunes happened and the programs like it(Napster, Limewire, Frostwire, etc.) Now i download alot more music rather than buy the CD's. I Love DVDProfiler so i am just very happy and content with it. (although i buy alot more DVD's than i used to...shame on you DVD Profiler!)

Of course they do. If I buy a download, it feels like I bought air. I want the artwork. I want to have something in my hands. As soon as they stop releasing physical media, it will be the end of my purchasing history I think. At least at the rate I'm going now.

Btw, I use MusicCollector from www.collectorz.com.

People might still want to catalog their mp3 purchases. Although you can do that in iTunes it's not as detailed as some people wish.

That said, it seems that downloads are on the way out too to be replaced by streaming services, at least here where Spotify dominates the market.

Personally, I use all three methods. I usually go to Spotify first to listen if it's anything I want to purchase, then I get the CD or mp3s depending on price and availability.

Same here. No matter what (music, films, books), I won't spend money on downloads.

I was being sarcastic. I do buy less now that I can download from the Internet. If it's an artist I like I will still buy the CD, if it's just a song like Grenade by Bruno Mars I'll just download the mp3.

I wasn't trying to be rude, I'm probably old fashioned, but I appreciate having the artwork. I'm a sucker for digipak's, special editions, and all that stuff. That's all gone with downloads.

But I do realize I'm part of a dying race

Of course. The very few tracks I bought as Download sounded ugly and overmodulated.

Just like the social network people who think that "HD" in YouTube is the same as "HD" in Avatar on B-rD.

oh i didnt think you were rude. i too like actually having something in my hand when i make a purchase but it is a cheaper way of doing things when you only like one song. i feel your pain!

Soulgazer quotes two of the "best in class"........(in my not so humble opinion!)

Check them out, they both have "trial versions".

The best one is........the one that does what you want
