Not quite, but the moon was exceptionally bright yesterday. So I decided to pull out my camera, and have some photoshop fun. It reminded me of watching Space: 1999 as a 10 year old.

Sorry if I got someone's hope up for a remake

I read it was so bright because the moon was closer to earth than it had been in 20 years time, making it appear 14% larger than usual.

I read the same thing Deejay, but I missed that point, when I got home at 3 A.M.    the moon was already much higher.

I already own the R1 boxset on DVD, but otherwise I would have gotten the Blu-Ray versions as well.

I guess if you lived on the Moon the Earth would also be 14% Larger..

I wanted to make a pic, but was too tired when I got home, I fell a sleep. Now I have to wait another 20 years, and then I'm really really old
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

I own both

The Blu-ray transfers look way better than those old DVD transfers. Hopefully they'll release the 2nd season in the near future...

Well Kat, why I am not surprised    Actually, I think the R1 boxset looks quite nice, so I won't be double dipping on this one. Not that I haven't done double, triple, or quadrupel dipping in the past already

Edwin, if it's not too cloudy in Holland, go outside. The moon still looks great. I did some more shots 20 minutes ago. Funny enough, my cheapest lens gave the best results. It does have a higher zoom factor, which could explain that.

Nice shot of the moon, very clear! And also nice composition on the Space 2011 mock-up you've made. Did you use photoshop to put all the elements together?

I don't own Space 1999 yet on DVD, so I'll be going straight for the Blu-ray set eventually

Thanks Taro. First processing (raw conversion, sharpening, lighting correction) was done in Lightroom. Then the rest of the elements were put together in Photoshop.

Basically, Photoshop allows you to do the same RAW processing, but it's easier in Lightroom.

Mabye I should start getting into Lightroom. I've heard some of my friends who are heavily into photography use it but I've never even thought of giving it a try myself, thinking I already had trouble using Photoshop correctly

Wow, great bright moon yesterday. Thanks for bringing that phenomenon to my attention.
