Somebody screwed up.  Whoever contributed the new profiles for Subspecies 4 and Vampire Journals (for The Epic Collection) and/or whoever approved those contributions did not take into account that profiles already existed for those two, and that the existing profiles should have been updated instead of creating new/additional profiles for ones which already existed.

Which profiles am I supposed to delete?  The original profiles have more detailed information (and the correct DVD/Sort title for Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm) but the new profiles have the correct cover scans.

Update:  What I ended up doing was this:  I copied/pasted the new/correct cover scans (from the newly created profiles) into the old/already existing profiles, then removed the new profiles from my collection.  Now all is right with the world.

What someone should do now is correct the mistakenly created new profiles and instead just update the existing profiles with the new cover scans.      -kd5-

Great.  I tried to bold Subspecies: The Epic Collection in the thread title, the tags went up like it was going to do just that, but when I posted the thread all I got was the DVD title with the bold tags around it.  I guess I'll know next time that it won't work.  In the meantime, if some enterprising individual feels like removing the bold tags from the thread title, I would be eternally greatful (it looks really stupid like that)...         -kd5-

Are the profiles that are there first a stand alone with a UPC number on the cover?... And the boxset by disc ID? If this is the case it don't sound like a mistake. It only sounds like the boxset child profiles need a little work.

You can edit the title of the thread to remove the tags if you wish. Just go edit the first post... and click the pencil icon next to the title of the thread.

When I originally entered the UPC for Subspecies: The Epic Collection, it downloaded child profiles for all 5 movies in the Collection.  I did nothing beyond that besides this latest refresh.    -kd5-

But are they in by UPC or disc ID? it could be that they just attached the single releases to the boxset... which then that would be wrong. Or are they in there with Disc ID... if that is the case the profiles may be correct... but they wrongly used the case of the single releases... in which cover you could submit the correct cover.

Apparently, whoever originally contributed the profile for The Epic Collection used the UPC's from the standalone copies of Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm and Vampire Journals.  I corrected the UPC's for those two in my DVD Profiler, but was not prompted to contribute anything like I usually am when I make major changes like that.  I assume that has to do with the refresh I made last night?  I also assume that because I wasn't prompted to contribute anything, all must be right with the world now?  Or is there something else I should do?      -kd5-

Unless the boxset uses the same exact releases as the stand alone releases (UPC on cases and all) then those stand alone profiles should not be attached to the boxset contents in the parent profile. They should only use the Disc ID profiles.... with everything correct per disc... including whatever case the boxset release uses. Without owning and seeing how the set actually is it is hard to say if it is correct or not.

If it was only those two that was done that way... and you changed the UPC to the Disc ID... did you then refresh the profiles to see if the info would be replaced with the correct ones? It could be that no one made child profiles for those two... and instead used the stand alone. Which would be wrong... correct ones should be created. Which would be easy enough to change the info. Just change the UPC # to the Disc ID... and verify and change any differences. Use the correct images and upload. It will upload as a new profile... not replace the UPC profile. Then I would correct the parent profiles with the right boxset content.

I scanned the discs which were different than the ones originally included in the Collection.  Looking at the General Information, I see different release dates for the various separate entities of this collection.  The Release Date for the actual Collection was apparently taken from Amazon.  I see different Release Dates wherever I go (DVD Empire, CD Uninverse, all different from Amazon) so I have no idea which date to use.  I just used Amazon's and entered the same date for each of the 5 in the Collection.  As far as contributing what I've done, I have no idea if the information is correct.  Runtimes are not listed on each individual disc so I have no idea if the Runtimes which were there are correct.  There were different Studios and Media Companies listed for the various entities, I made them all the same for this Collection.  At any rate, I don't feel comfortable contributing what I've done with each of these.  I'm glad to have the correct cover scans, and the disc ID's are now correct.  I assume the contributions which were made recently are more correct than what was there initially.      -kd5-
