Has anyone been to Cape Canaveral or NASA in Houston?(Don't remember the official name right now for Houston) |

As the great man Al Murray once said "the only reason we didn't try to get to the moon first, is because we'd have nobody to give it back to when we've finished with it".  On a serious note, it's a shame the US are scaling back on it's space program. Maybe India and China will fill that void, but I doubt it. |

On a serious note, it's a shame the US are scaling back on it's space program. Maybe India and China will fill that void, but I doubt it. Now we can look forward to not being able to developing protection for ourself's against threats from space. And forget about ever colonising other planets. We will just stay on this rock and slowly count down the days to our own demise. |

I heard Discovery is going to a museum. Don't know which one.
It's likely that they'll all go to museums or something.
On a related note, several months ago I recall that they were going back to the old 1960's look ships. Anyone know if this is still true or not.
If so, that seems like a huge step backwards to me. |

But it's not exactly as clear cut as when for example my granddad fought at El Alamein. Where you get down on your knees at night and crawl through 5 mile mine field with only your bayonet to feel around. Smithsonian in Washington DC is what I heard. I read that too. It will be joining Enterprise, which is already there. Enterprise was the first shuttle, built for flight tests, but never flew in space. I also read, not sure if was true or not, that they were also willing to give away the other shuttles too for no cost. The catch: you have to provide transportation and all engine components would be stripped out. | | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |
