Separate Credits Essex Productions George Sidney Productions All together as one Essex-George Sidney Productions 2nd: I'm not sure there are any valid music credits These are the 1st Music credits (I think John O'Hara is a valid OMB credit) These are the second It seems to me from the credits that the first people did the music for the Play and the second people Adapted that Music for the film? |

For the record: IMHO, this really depends from title to title - you have to actually know something about these companies to enter them properly, and that's not always the case. In this case, I'm convinced they're two separate companies (the "an X-Y-Z picture" approach, with X, Y and Z being independent companies, isn't entirely unusual), and I would list them as such, ensuring, for instance, that I can get DVD Profiler to show me a list of all "Essex Productions" in my database. The second question is a bit of a nightmare. Even the "Book By" credit isn't as straightforward as it looks: for a musical play, a "book" is something entirely different than the usual "Based on the Book by" credit we track as OMB. See here for an explanation of what this "Book" really is. Other than that, there's the fact that none of the music/song material is "original" for this film... And surely the guy who produced the stage play isn't someone we credit in any role on the film profile. Quote: It seems to me from the credits that the first people did the music for the Play and the second people Adapted that Music for the film? Yes. But how to reflect that in DVD Profiler...? Beats me. |

| Posted: | | | | From what I can find, 'Essex Productions' was a production company. According to IMDb, they have eight films to their credit. 'George Sidney Productions', according to IMDb, only had one...Pal Joey...so I would list them individually.
As to the second part of your question, when last I dealt with musical OMB credits, m.cellophane was a good source of information as to how those credits translate for Profiler purposes. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Have come across another one, are we entering the "Book" credit as OMB or leaving it out? |
