| Posted: | | | | Hi
Not so long ago I bouth the Blu-ray boxset of Bambi/Bamib II (UPC: 8717418297923). The UPCs for the individual titles are as follows Bambi: 8717418304430, Bambi II: 8717418291419.
Inside each film was in its own HD Keep Case.
On each case, my copies, had a small white sticker saying 'Not for Individual Sale' stuck over the barcode - on the plastic only.
Therefore, I was able to remove the paper covers and see the barcode.
As the rules state to use the UPC/EAN whenever possible; that is what I did. I attached said profiles to the boxset.
Since then a couple of people have submitted changes to the parent profile assigning Disc ID profiles - stating that their copies have the 'Not for Individual Sale' stickers. I engaged in a PM discussion with one user who said that his stickers were on the paper covers over the barcode.
So...what to do? Should the boxset be assigned the barcode profiles as I have done? Or should the Disc ID profiles be assigned?
Either way makes no difference to me - I would just like some guidance on how to vote (I've currently voted NO based on the fact that I can see the EAN). |

| Posted: | | | | Not sure how I would vote on this one... because it seems to me at least both sets (UPC versions and Disc ID versions) are correct per rules. Who knows how many people got it with the sticker on the case and how many with the sticker on the paper insert?
Sorry I not much help here... just seems like both ways are correct.. and either way some people won't get it how they have it in their set. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I have bought a few box sets that have a white sticker on the plastic over the UPC #. When I downloaded the profile the children for the movies were the UPC #'s found underneath the plastic.
So if it's ok to do that for white stickers than I would see no problem in doing it for a "Not for Individual Sale" stickers either. |

| Posted: | | | | In cases like this where both is correct, I'd go for the usual compromise: First in has it. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | You can see how they did it in Great Britain under EAN 8-717418-297923. They did it as one set with two films. I myself would prefere a Boxset with the two films and the UPC for each film in it.

| Posted: | | | | I'd go with UPC. The fact that there's a UPC printed on the cover in my opinion means there's a big chance these movies will get an individual release later down the line. It's not an exact science and I could be wrong of course, but I've seen things like this happen before:
They bring out the box set, with the covers with individual UPC's, with a white label over it. Later, they bring them out individually.
Or conversely, titles that were individually released first are thrown together in a box set. They keep the same covers and stick a white sticker over the UPC. But it's the exact same release.
There's not 100% right or wrong in this situation I think but I'd go with UPC. In fact, whenever there's a UPC, I use a UPC (even if there's a white sticker over it) | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |
