I just got a whole bunch of new Blu's and expecting even more as my impulse purchases following the Oscars start arriving.

After entering over 20 titles and having them all recognized and downloaded in a matter if just a few minutes, I am reminded once again how much the value of this program is linked to the quality and timeliness of the database.

Just wanted to stop by and say "thanks" once again to all of you who focus on contributions.

When I started using this programme last summer, it took me what seemed like days and days to simply type in all the UPCs for my collection.  When I do a full audit of a single DVD and submit a contribution, if frequently takes me over an hour to do so.  I very much doubt I'd ever have the time to audit my whole collection in this way myself.  (This, from someone who has spent the last seven years turning all his vinyl and tapes into mp3 files and has got as far as the letter T in that time.)  So the fact that so many people spend so much time doing the same sort of thing (and care enough about the quaility of this information to occasionally get quite anoyed in some of these threads), so that I (and others) can have free access to it, is really quite special.  So yes, thank you to all those people, especially the ones that have been doing this for years and years.    I wonder what the total number of hours of work its taken to put it all together is?
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

I been here for going on 11 years now... and I personally don't want to know how many hours I put into it... let alone everyone for the entire database!

I think I also don't stop often enough to consider all the hard work, by volunteers, that goes into these profiles I download. So to all of you, a heartfelt big thank you and thumbs up to all

I don't even want to think about those lost hours, looking up name variants and seeing if a common name thread exists, finding the right links to show I'm not crazy, etc.

I found an even better time slaughterer, re-watching a TV series with subtitles to try and get all the character roles, since none are given and online only has the primary stars credited!   Even TV.com says "guest star" for over half of them, and on previous series they have saved the day with full lists and much better info then imdb.

To everyone else with me, thanks. I do love when I get home with a new disc and see I don't have to audit it!
