When deleting, too many steps are involved. 1) tick film(s) 2) press delete 3) tick confirm 4) press accept - that's cumbersome!

Suggestion:
One-click delete possible (by setup) please!

Deletion of a single profile takes only two clicks:
1. Right-Click on the profile -> from the context menu choose "Delete"
2. Confirm (by pressing "Enter")

Done

"One-Click"-deletion isn't really something one would wish for in a database. It's too easy to accidentally delete a dataset and it is really cumbersome to restore personal data after this.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Yes, I really do wish for a more pro interface with no B. Gates "are you sure you are sure?" superfluous popups #:o). I still wish for

1 - tick DVD(s)
2 - press Delete button (which I put in the icons bar)

My work is Unix system programming, so I'm used to slick pro non-forgiving tools, sorry

I agree. I'm using DVD Profiler for a really existent collection and every time when I select Flagged -> Remove from collection... I thank Invelos for "[ ] To proceed, check here and select OK."

lbk, why is it that you felt the need to start a SECOND thread on this topic, you had already started one in the Feature Request Forum. You refer to "pro", actually I find your approach to be amateurish at best, certainly not something I would build into any database I have ever designed. Under your system if you make a mistake....tough...you have to rebuild the profile or restore it from backup both of which take far more time than the current deletion system. Your simplified approach would simply cause many problems for many, many users and God help the many users that don't backup. Thank you.

Welcome to the 21st century. the vast majority of PC users know or care little about Unix and it's non-forgiving tools. That is likely one of the reasons that Unix never captured very much of the PC market.

Which unfortunately left it with the paltry STB, Router, Media appliance, Car Dashboard and MAC OS 10 markets. Shame.

I know what you meant though, the GUI. Just poking a bit of fun.

Unless DVDP's Database has Journal/Transaction logs/Rollback support I think the way it is now is best.
