| Posted: | | | | I pre-ordered another 4 movie set. I like these sets for the value... but hate them for profiling... I can never get straight when we use what title. There is so much on the case that there could be a couple (even possibly a few) obvious choices. So what is your thoughts? How should this set (parent profile) be named? I am really having mixed feelings on this one and no real strong feeling on what is correct to do. | | | Pete |

Just making sure I follow you. I was originally thinking all in the title field... but wasn't really sure on it at all. | | | Pete |

If so, it might fall under the "Episode descriptors" portion of the rule. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Only if there are other "4 Movie Marathons" by the same company would I think of "Cult Horror Collection" as an edition.. and even then I would have to think about it more.
Otherwise, I'd put it all in the title field. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

Title:4 Movie Marathon Edition:Cult Horror Collection I think it would be better with Title:Cult Horror Collection Edition:4 Movie Marathon Title:Dark Comedy Collection Edition:4 Movie Marathon Title:Classic Western Collection Edition:4 Movie Marathon Title:Classic War Collection Edition:4 Movie Marathon ... With this we have different titles of the same edition instead of the same title with different editions, which seems closer to what is sold. If "4 Movie Marathon" has different editions, we can guess that it is the same content with different presentation or packaging, as we have Ben-Hur: Classic Collection Ben-Hur: Gold Edition | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

| Posted: | | | | Neither "4 Movie Marathon" nor "Cult * Collection" is really the title of any of these movies. But there's a whole series of "4 Movie Marathon" DVDs out there. So it's really "4 Movie Marathon" that's the edition of this series - not only in DVDP sense but literally. The Criterion Collection is an edition of movies or like this DVD edition from a german newspaper: Personally, just because the word "collection" appears on the cover doesn't make it part of the edition field. That would be parsing words, not semantics. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

As was shown... yes... there is many of the 4 Movie Marathon releases... and as I said in the opening post several different ideas on what is the correct title per rules. This is why I want to pull all my hair out with such releases. I always thought for example... on the 4 Film Favorites Collections that are out something like Title: The Critter Collection Edition: 4 Film Favorites ... would have been correct. But virtually all of those got input/changed to Title: 4 Film Favorites: The Critter Collection or Title: 4 Film Favorites Edition: The Critters Collection Leaving me questioning my original thoughts on the matter. And then leading to this thread. | | | Pete |

"The Edition field is for distinguishing between DVDs, and for indicating special versions and collections (for example The Criterion Collection..." The hard part of that is... that just because the word Collection is there don't necessarily mean that is the edition. The word Collection can also be part of the title. It is figuring out when it is the title and when it is the edition that people seem to have a problem with. It takes more then that word alone. | | | Pete |
