| Posted: | | | | Have a question. There was a recent change in the child DVD profile that came with the Blu-ray release. The change is with the cover scans from the 2-disc edition to 3-disc edition. In these cases, it was my understanding that it's first come, first served as both releases come with the same type of DVD.
The UPCs in question are: 786936808889 (2-disc) 786936807875 (3-disc)
If I'm wrong about the whole first come, first served, that's fine. I can easily lock mine down but problem is somebody's profile will not match (the reasoning for the change was because "the existing child back cover shows the wrong UPC. Again, this corrects that error"). |

That's also my understanding, since both releases were released at the same time as well as containing the same DVD Quote: but problem is somebody's profile will not match (the reasoning for the change was because "the existing child back cover shows the wrong UPC. Again, this corrects that error"). No matter which cover you choose, there will always users whose cover doesn't match up. If you go with the 3 disc release, the people with the 2 disc release have a different cover and vice versa. Since a disc can only have one cover scan, I think all we can do is go by the first come first served rule and leave it at that. Other users can still locally copy over the cover from the parent to the child profile and lock it. I had the same problem with V season 1: I entered box set data but noticed someone else already submitted the child profile with the limited steel book release. Since both are released on the same day, I left it as it as as first come is first served and just adapted the covers and case type locally. No biggie. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | That does seem to be the consensus, but I have been rethinking my opinion on this. Using the V series as an example, I think the child profiles should reflect the common release rather than the limited edition release because that is the one most people will purchase.
If the 3 disc set is also a limited version, then the child should have that cover scan for the same reason. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Interesting point, Martian. For the V Blu-ray box set, I know it's limited to one store but not time limited (or perhaps until stock is depleted). So, not sure if you feel that would qualify or not.
For Sorcerer's Apprentice, to the best of my knowledge, both versions (2 disc and 3 disc) are available at all stores, in equal quantity and are not limited in time. I think Disney just wants to give consumers a choice: the one without Digital Copy is always a tad cheaper than the 3 disc version. So in such a case, I think it's a first come, first served basis? | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

Yeah, that's my understanding of this release as well. |

If neither is limited then, yea, first come, first served. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
