Hi,
After searching in the forum I could not find a suitable reply to the following problem
I reassigned collection numbers by title for the umpteenth time, only to discover that some gaps appeared in the collection list numbers, but only in reference to some 'child' titles.
Tried to edit these titles and found that they had been assigned a number already assigned to another child title in that same box; then tried to manually assign the correct number but it didn't work, the gap was still there.
Then another strange thing happened: in order to solve the problem I logged in in order to download the previous collection from the database, but according to the software my collection was made of 4000 or more titles, whereas I own approx. 1600.
Help!!!!!!
What's happening?

Not sure what's happening, but you might try a database repair if you haven't already and then try to reassign the numbers.  You mention child profiles...are you counting those in your 1600 profiles? Profiler does even if they are not assigned a collection number in the online, so that might be the cause of your inflated number.

Try a partial reassignment with all checkboxes set except for "None" (unless you want to get rid of those too).

Thanks, apparently the database repair did the trick.
Yes, the database is set to count child profiles as well, anyway the inflated number problem vanished after restarting the software.
