Not sure if this is helpful, but I had the reverse situation. I setup some box sets on the desktop, as they hadn't been correctly created when originally entered on the iPad. I sync'd the changes to the iPad. This half worked in that the child films were no longer visible, but the chevron didn't appear. I closed the db, killed the app and afterwards the chevron appeared and the films were nicely nestled inside.
