| | Posted: | | | | Has anyone played Call of Duty: Black Ops in 3D on a 3D HDTV with Active Shutter Glasses yet? If so, how was your experience? I'd totally forgotten that Black Ops had the option to play in 3D until I read something about it today. I got my new Panasonic Plasma 3D HDTV on Saturday and tonight after work I'm going to check out COD: Black Ops for PS3 with my new TV and Active Shutter Glasses. | | Posted: | | | | Last night I had my first experience playing “Call of Duty: Black Ops” in 3D. It was fun while it lasted. I say "while it lasted" because I could only play for about 30 minutes before my eyes began to experience serious fatigue. The reason?...it's too dark, even on my HDTV's Game setting that boosts brightness and contrast for playing video console games. You really have to work to see the enemy in low light situations and this causes fatigue in short order. I’m going to tweak my HDTV’s Game setting this weekend and try to get more illumination so that I can hopefully play for more than 30 minutes at a whack. As far as the game play in 3D itself: It needs some work. The 3D depth was ok although it could have been better. I think the game developer played it safe here and kept the depth to a minimum and there is no option to increase the depth on this game as there is in others. You do get the sense of being in a 3D environment though so that's not bad. The game play seems a little sluggish and aiming in 3D is a lot harder than it is in 2D. When aiming with the scope you actually get the sense of depth with the reticule floating in front of you as if it were extending out of the TV screen and the front of the scope out in front of you…pretty cool . Flying in the helicopter in the last mission was very cool. You actually get the sense of being in the cockpit. The copter got pretty torn up during the fight with the Hind and I had a hard time landing it on the helipad because in 3D you actually feel like you’re going to crash into an object when you get too close and have to maneuver around it  . I read an article that says the resolution is scaled down to 720p for both eyes in 3D although I can’t confirm this. The resolution does seem a little softer in 3D than it is in 2D though. That’s about all I can report for now. Hopefully I’ll be able to get the illumination problem solved and get some more game play in. I’ll let you know  . | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| | Posted: | | | | You may want to buy Killzone 3 coming 22 of februari. This game is said to be taking full advantage of PS3's 3D capabilities, and this being a first-party title instead of a poorly ported, instable money-grab that Black Ops is i wouldn't bet against it. Gran Turismo is 3d capable as well. Paul |

I actually liked Black Ops better than MW2 but even better, IMHO, was the last MOH. I'll keep a lookout for Killzone 3 though . I prefer Battlefield: Bad Company 2, but that's not 3d, you may want to try it though as it's not very expensive anymore, and with the Vietnam DLC it's gotten even better, Paul |

I prefer Battlefield: Bad Company 2, but that's not 3d, you may want to try it though as it's not very expensive anymore, and with the Vietnam DLC it's gotten even better,
Paul I actually own and played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and I liked it. What I didn't really like though was the multiplayer platform...I prefer MW2's multiplayer. I also don't like the fact that the Vietnam DLC expansion pack is only available via download and at $15 for 4 multiplayer maps it seems a little steep to me...especially since it's only a download. I frown on DLCs because you take the risk of losing your investment if your PS3's HD fails and isn't backed up. | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

I love the Multi player, but to each is own i guess, and while Vietnam are only 4 maps it really feels and plays a lot different than the original game. And as Dr. Killpatient mentioned, you can redownload previous purchases via your download list in the PSN store. I had the unfortuneate experience of my PS3 breaking and redownloaded everything without a problem. Paul |

The point is, it's not a 100% guarantee that your previous purchases will be available indefinitely. Since i own the Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box i can't comment on this, i do know however that a lot of time, when buying these packaged deals you still have to download several separate products, could this be the case? What about trying to download them all via the search function on the store, if already purchased this may be possible? And does Burnout have in in-game store, like many EA titles, maybe you can download from there? It may also be possible that it automatically downloads the extra content when you first starts the game up again as a lot of content is already on the disc and you just have to unlock it, I hope any of this works, great game btw!
