| Posted: | | | | I have one set of the 4 Film Favorites... The Critters Collection. I was wondering the same thing. When I originally put that set in I made it...
Title: The Critters Collection Edition: 4 Film Favorites
I always thought that to be the correct way... but it was recently changed to
Title: 4 Film Favorites Edition: The Critters Collection
using all the others in the database as their reasoning. I personally still think that change was wrong... but since everyone else was voting yes... I didn't have the energy to fight it so ignored it. Now I am sorry I did.
So I will be much interested in the answer as well... as I still personally feel...
Title: The Critters Collection Edition: 4 Film Favorites
Should be the correct way. | | | Pete |

Should be the correct way. I did the same thing with the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" films, Pete. And somewhere along the line their titles got changed, too. It seems like this is a "Collection" of releases as defined in the "Edition" section of the Rules. Quoting the Rules: Quote: The Edition field is for distinguishing between DVDs, and for indicating special versions and collections (for example The Criterion Collection, Widescreen, Full-Screen Edition, Director's Cut) | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

Title: The Critters Collection Edition: 4 Film Favorites
Should be the correct way. I wholeheartedly agree. The other way is useless. "4 Film Favorites" is a collection of releases of otherwise disparate film releases. It would be ludicrous to have, for example: Title: The Criterion Collection Edition: The Third Man |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah... I believe this is an entire collection that is being treated wrong in the online database. I would love to get something here that I could point to and correct this problem. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I also feel that "4 Film Favorites" should be in the Edition field. For example the Blade Collection. The content of the box are 3 Blade films and the TV pilot. The "4 Film Favorites" is the name for a collection of film collections. | | | Cor |

| Posted: | | | | I don't really have a preference but I could see "4 Film Favorites: Something" as the title of the box set and no edition. Of course, that still leaves the child profiles to contemplate on... | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Title: The Critters Collection Edition: 4 Film Favorites
Should be the correct way. I pretty much agree Pete. I always thought the "4 Film Favorites" should be in the edition too, but it's been changed to the opposite on the two such titles that I own. This ended up as a big argument before, so I just said screw it and ignored it also. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | I don't own any of these, but I can see how '4 Film Favorites' could be considered a series of releases...especially with the word 'collection' being used in some of them. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I don't own any of these titles, but I would treat the whole thing as the title. 4 Film Favorites: The Critters Collection. No edition. Then I'd just set the sort title to "Critters" |

| Posted: | | | | Agreed... but it seems everyone that owns the titles seems to fight it with all they are worth. with my owning only the one title... and so many in the database like that Not sure I can fight it without something strong to back me up. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | When the rule tells us that the edition field is for indicating special versions and collections, and the titles in question use the word 'collection', it is kinda hard to argue that it isn't an edition. I understand why some people don't want it that way, but I can see the other side as well. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | The thing is... it isn't always an edition just because the word Collection is there. And I believe in this case the title is The Critters Collection. | | | Pete |
