FRED STAHLY (6 confirmed credits):
- All Forgotten aka Lover's Prayer (confirmed by me)
- Blind Dating (confirmed by me)
- Dark Streets (confirmed by me)
- Juno (confirmed by me)
- King of California (confirmed by me)
- One Night with the King (confirmed by SpaceFreakMicha)

FRED STAHLEY (3 confirmed credits):
- Grand Champion (confirmed by me)
- The Lake House (confirmed by me)
- Love Don't Cost a Thing (confirmed by me)

FREDERICK H. STAHLY (3 confirmed credits):
- Buddy Boy (confirmed by me)
- Mark of a Murderer
- Most Wanted
- Open Range (confirmed by bbbbbb)
- Soul of the Game
- Up in the Air (confirmed by me)

INVALID credits, all currently - and mistakenly - listed in the db under Frederick H. Stahly, throwing off the CLT numbers:
- Avenging Angelo (invalid, confirmed by me: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- Be Cool (invalid, confirmed by me: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- The Bourne Supremacy (invalid, confirmed by me: not credited)
- The Corruptor (invalid, confirmed by bigdaddyhorse and me: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- Hanging Up (invalid, confirmed by me: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- The Hunchback of Notre Dame (invalid, confirmed by me: credited as "Foley Editor")
- Live from Baghdad (invalid, confirmed by me: not credited)
- Ray (invalid, confirmed by ninehours: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- Scary Movie 2 (invalid, confirmed by zwoti: credited as "ADR Editor")
- Soul Food (invalid, confirmed by me: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- Vertical Limit (invalid, confirmed by bbbbbb: credited as "ADR Editor")
- Willard (invalid, confirmed by zwoti: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- xXx: The Next Level (invalid, confirmed by me: credited as "Dialogue Editor")

Current CLT numbers: 6 titles for Fred Stahly, 7 titles for Fred Stahley and 28 titles for Frederick H. Stahly. Simply relying on the numbers, it would seem like a "slam dunk" for Frederick H. Stahly (which is what IMDb happens to use), but I believe that quite a number of those are actually invalid credits: he's credited as "dialogue editor" and "ADR editor" quite a lot, too, and a bunch of those seem to have managed to make their way into the database. As you can see, we've already spotted a few of those, and I believe there are many more. Hence the need to properly figure this out. As always, any help is much appreciated!

Vertical Limit: FRED STAHLY as "ADR Editor", guess that rules him out.

Are you sure with the Fredrick? (imdb has him as Frederick H. Staley)

Since we don't track "Dialogue Editors", for the purpose of this thread that lack or presence of an "e" really doesn't matter much anymore. Anyway: we've managed to eliminate quite a few wrong credits already! It seems like a stretch, but since I still don't trust the majority of the alledged Frederick H. Stahly credits, I'm actually hopeful that we can arrive at Fred Stahly.

I audited Corruptor in January and this name is not there, He was probably ADR or Dialogue.

Just curious. Thanks for the screen shot, ninehours! So imdb is wrong and we are right.

No, both databases have it wrong. IMDb says "Frederick" instead of the actual "Fredrick", so they got his first name wrong, but this credit is found in the Invelos database under "Stahly" instead of the actual "Staley", so we've managed to get the last name wrong. And then there's the simple fact that a "dialogue editor" credit shouldn't have ever gotten into the Invelos database, of course. Not that it matters, but all in all, I certainly wouldn't call this a case of "imdb is wrong and we are right."

Still working through the remaining/alledged "Frederick H. Stahly" titles to prove them wrong: today's victims are Disney's 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' (credited as "Foley Editor") and 'Live from Baghdad' (not credited at all), so we're nearly there - "there" being able to announce Fred Stahly as the common name...

We've already reached the point where Frederick H. Stahly can no longer overtake Fred Stahly - only a tie is, theoretically, still possible. But if we can prove only one more of those Frederick H. Stahly entries to be wrong (for instance, according to IMDb both his 'Most Wanted' and 'Soul of the Game' credits are invalid), then we're there.

Good news: we have a winner! As I predicted, it's Fred Stahly. I particularly enjoy the fact that the name variant with the lowest number of credits in the CLT numbers that we started out with has been proven to be the right one - you'd be surprised how often that happens.

CLT numbers per 28/12: 6 titles for Fred Stahly, 7 for Fred Stahley and 28 (!) for Frederick H. Stahly.
CLT numbers per 14/01: 7 titles for Fred Stahly, 3 for Fred Stahley and 5 (!!!) for Frederick H. Stahly.
Actual, correct numbers: 6 titles for Fred Stahly, 3 for Fred Stahley and 3 (!!!) for Frederick H. Stahly.

Complete run-down:

FRED STAHLY (6 confirmed credits):
- All Forgotten aka Lover's Prayer (confirmed by me)
- Blind Dating (confirmed by me)
- Dark Streets (confirmed by me)
- Juno (confirmed by me)
- King of California (confirmed by me)
- One Night with the King (confirmed by SpaceFreakMicha)

FRED STAHLEY (3 confirmed credits):
- Grand Champion (confirmed by me)
- The Lake House (confirmed by me)
- Love Don't Cost a Thing (confirmed by me)

FREDERICK H. STAHLY (3 confirmed credits):
- Buddy Boy (confirmed by me)
- Most Wanted (invalid, confirmed by huskersports: credited as "Dialogue Editor")
- Open Range (confirmed by bbbbbb)
- Soul of the Game (invalid, confirmed by huskersports: credited as "Sound Effects Editor")
- Up in the Air (confirmed by me)

Most Wanted: Frederick H. Stahly - Dialogue Editor (invalid)
Soul of the Game: Frederick H. Stahly - Sound Effects Editor (invalid)
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

By the way, I got a sneek peek at the Red DVD (out January 25th here in the States), and he's credited as an ADR editor (Frederick H. Stahly), so don't let anyone slip that one by you either.
