Hello Folks,

I just installed the new version 3.7.1 Built 1436 on Windows 7 and get the following error message on startup.
Since this is a new installation there is now database to be reconfigured - but I tried even that.
The same built is running in a Winows XP VMware without any problems...
Any ideas?

Best regards and a very merry christmas to all of you...

-pulped

Try running a database repair. If it still doesn't start, run database repair again until it runs without showing any errors.

If it still doesn't start after 2 or 3 repairs. Try starting DVDPro in diagnostic mode by holding the shift key when launching. Run it without any plugins.

Wow.
Thank you - that works. Almost.
The problem seems to be the layout.
I get the program to start in diagnostic-mode
- WITH Plugins
- a standard-layout
- WITH the search for newer versions

After closing the program and trying to restart it I get the same error.
How can I save the (working) layout for the next start?

Regards,

pulped

Your layout may be linked to a plugin that is not supported in the update. Try disabling them one by one.

Thank you for your help - but it doesn't work.
I disabled the plugins...
Another strange thing:
If I start the diagnostic-mode by holding down the shift-key and I choose "Normal Start" it works, but not by doubleclick the icon or the exe-file....

any more ideas?

regards,

-pulped

Uninstall the program, then go to the folder holding your database, and delete the layouts folder to make sure the corrupt layout is gone.

Then re-install the application. Uninstalling the application won't delete your database, but if you want to be safe, make a copy of the DVD profiler folder holding your database. If you used the default, it will be in your My Documents folder.
