First time adding my DVDs into DVD Profiler I skipped adding Child Profiles (not knowing what they were and what they represented at the time) on a few of my DVDs.  I want to go through my collection now and add Child Prifiles to several of my dual disc double features and boxed movie collections, but I want them to be in numerical order once I'm finished.  Can I do this by selecting 'Reassign Collection Numbers' without having it re-arrange my entire collection?  I have several DVDs I want to stay where I put them, like 1408 I have arranged by alphabet:  F for Fourteen-O-Eight.

Is it possible to select 'Reassign Collection Numbers', but not have it reaarange my collection, just move all the numbers up by however many I've edited by adding Child Profiles and still have them in numerical order?  Which option should I choose to do this?

Or ultimately, do I have to do this one at a time?

Thanks,      -kd5-

If you're saying what I think you mean you can right click on the added dvd profile and hit insert collection number, this will then ask you if you would like to shift all collection numbers down.  I usually change the collection number of what you want added to where it should be then insert the collection number and it will move everything down one, I'm not sure if I do it right either though, I always then have to change the collection number up one so there isn't a gap.  Also if you have sorted your DVD's in numerical order and want 1408  to stay with F's, check what the sort name is in the profile and change it to fourteen-o-eight rather than 1408

Just wanted to come back and say that I added Child Profiles for all TV shows & box sets, for individual discs in each season I checked 'none' for Collection Number and Counted as 0 because I did not want to count each disc of each season (same with some box sets, not all), set my Sort By's so it would alphabetize the way I wanted it to, then reassigned all collection numbers.  With the exception of a few cosmetic changes everything worked well and I now feel like my collection isn't all cluttered up like it used to be...           -kd5-
