| Posted: | | | | Not sure if i voted correctly some am asking here The contribution is changing it from Moonwalker to Michael Jackson: Moonwalker is this correct? I voted no as per the rule on Possessives but the notes have been update to say Quote: *PLEASE NOTE* This has nothing to do with possessives. It is not Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, the title is Michael Jackson Moonwalker. Rules say: "Use the title as on cover" Michael Jackson Moonwalker is spread in huge letters across the front cover and it is also on the spine. I quote from the overview on the back cover: "MICHAEL JACKSON MOONWALKER is one of the most spectacular..." Obviously happy to change my vote if this is correct |

| Posted: | | | | The way I'm reading it, the Michael Jackson part is simply there to say he's the star and not part of the title. Therefore, the existing title of only Moonwalker would be correct IMHO. |

| Posted: | | | | Although I can understand how the contributor might think the change is correct, I'm afraid I also disagree.
Many DVDs have the actor's name on the cover - we do not add those to the title.
I believe the original contribution is correct and "no" is the appropriate vote. |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know this release... is it a movie? or is it a music/performance disc? If it is a music/performance disc.... this rule would come into effect... Quote: For music and stage performance DVDs, use the performer or group name followed by the DVD title, separated with a colon and space. For example: "U2: Rattle and Hum", "Ellen Degeneres: The Begining". and the title would be... Michael Jackson: Moonwalkerif it is a movie... then the title would just be.. Moonwalker | | | Pete |

That's not just my gut reaction, but the way that Michael Jackson is not included within the quotes in the credits block also confirms that it's not part of the title. |

My answer was based on my knowledge that it's not a music/performance disc. If it was, my answer would indeed have been entirely different. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the info... then it is definitely per Rules Moonwalker.
Of course that could have been said earlier to make it clear. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

And Thanks to Addicted2DVD showing the part of the rule. |

| Posted: | | | | I still own the old LaserDisc of this since it's never been released in the US on DVD that I know of.
Anyways, I really don't know how to category this. It's not really a film such as Sound of Music or South Pacific and while it does have segments that have MJ singing & performing it's not just that either.
I guess the best way I could describe it is a bunch of music videos pieced together with a story about Michael & some children defeating Joe Pesci's character in the end. |

So it's more a Documentary film, just like White Diamond: A Personal Portrait of Kylie Minogue and I'm Going to Tell You a Secret. So it's just Moonwalker. | | | Cor |
