I’ve just contributed an update for Star Wreck (EAN 5060018490403).  The credits for this film are very, very long, as all the extras appear to have been included.  Doing this gave me three new things to think about.  Any thoughts anyone has on the best way to deal with these situations would be helpful.

One member of the cast has himself and the role he plays listed in the credits twice, in different places, (in other words there’s a duplicate entry for exactly the same information).  I’ve not included the second listing in the Contribution.  Is this the appropriate way to deal with this situation?

One member of the cast has three roles but these are all listed after her name as one entry in the end credits; however, the third of the roles won’t fit into the entry field in the database, so is missing.  Is this the appropriate way to deal with this or is there a better way?

A lot of the cast played more than one role, but these are all listed separately in different places in the end credits, so I’ve listed them as they appear in them; this means some people are named two or three times.  Is this the appropriate way to deal with this?

Thanks.  Paul
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

We are supposed to list them exactly as credited so, if he is listed twice, we enter him twice.

You should add an extra entry, for the role that won't fit, directly under the other one.

You did it correctly.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

But not if the two places are opening credits and end credits?

Then, per the rules, we only enter them once: we use the full cast list from the end credits.

Hello

Thanks for your answers people.  I've withdraw the Contribution and will edit it a bit now.  For information, all the details came from the end credits; (the film doesn't really have anything in the way of opening credits anyway)  I thought I'd made this clear but having read back what I wrote I probably didn't really.

Question 1:  I think I already knew the answer to this one, as the Rules do say "exactly as they are listed in the credits"; but I thought I'd ask anyway as it's another example of one of those its in the rules vs is there any actual value in doing this issues.

Question 2:  This makes sense, but I couldn't see anything in the Rules which might cover this, other than the one above which is techincally impossible to follow in the case.

Question 3:  Good!

Best wishes  -  Paul
