| Posted: | | | | For a number f reasons, I haven't tried to create a new TV series profile for a long time. In the interim, I have bought a new computer with Win7 -- and now, thanks to new security features, Win7 won't let me run the two programs I could always count on (Goodguy's and Tom Gaines' Cast and Crew editors)
What are you users using or doing to simplify entry of cast/crew data for television episodes?
I tried to find some post on this topic, but I don't remember how to use a Google search with this site and the notoriously bad built-in search function doesn't help me.

| Posted: | | | | I just use DVD Profiler.... for TV Series the way I do it...
Do the first opening credit (which most of the time is the same for every episode... though this should be double checked to be sure). Then I right click the episode divider and click Copy Cast Section... Then I right click again and choose Paste and Append. I do this for each episode on the disc/set then as I do the cast for each episode I drag the cast from the left column to the spot they should be in... in the right column. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | That's pretty much how I do it, but I wish it were easier with the cast. It's more complicated to have to key in the role for each new member, unlike crew where you have pulldowns to click on. Crew members don't vary as much, either, other than Directors, writers, and maybe DoPs and Editors. The rest of the crews are usually consistent for a season.
I thought you might be the first one to respond to my question, Pete. I know you have a lot of TV sets. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges. DVD Profiler user since June 15, 2001 |

I use the latest version of Tom Gaines' Cast & Crew Editor in Win7 with no problems at all. It's Version is 1.5.5, downloaded from his page at http://www.tom-gaines.de/ | | | Randy Compton | Farmington NY |

I use the latest version of Tom Gaines' Cast & Crew Editor in Win7 with no problems at all. It's Version is 1.5.5, downloaded from his page at http://www.tom-gaines.de/ I downloaded Ton's editor v1.5.5, installed it, but I get the following error message popup: Quote: Component 'OWD10.DLL' or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid. I got the OWD10.DLL loaded, but I then get a different error message about COMDLG32.ocx being missing. I downloaded the file suggested on Tom's website, but the bat file won't run properly. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges.
