| Posted: | | | | Has anyone noticed a difference between the DVD credits and the Blu Ray credits in these combo packs?
Right now I'm watching the dvd of one of these combos...can I take the credits and apply it to both the dvd profile and the blu profile? Or just the DVD?
Thanks! | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | In so far as the ones that I own, the credits have been the same. So I don't see why not imho. Rory | | | DVD Profiler for iOS as of 3/5/2013 DVD Profiler for Android as of 5/17/2013 |

| Posted: | | | | I've double checked this with quite a few of the blu-ray/dvd combo packs I've purchased. So far, they've all had exactly the same credits, opening and closing. (The Blind Side, Avatar, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Amityville Horror, Out of Africa & Return of the Living Dead are some of the more recent ones I've checked).
I've also upgraded a few titles to blu-ray (The Blade Trilogy, Sapphire Series Releases such as The Godfather Parts I & II, Braveheart, Gladiator and some "older" films like Crash, Monster Squad, Doctor Zhivago and most of the Harry Potter series) and the credits of those have all remained the same as well. | | | The night is calling. | Posted: | | | | I've never noticed any difference in the credits on the Blu-ray/DVD Combo packs that I own, but it's definitely possible. MGM sometimes adds a DVD that came out 9-10 years previously for example, so of course was sourced from an older transfer. It's quite easy to overlook a very minor difference in credits too. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | I have done this just recently. I do not have BR player in my PC so right after auditing the DVD, I pop the BRD in my PS3 and look through the credits to see if anything jumps out at me and so far it has not. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks! Sounds like it should be fine to put the dvd info in the parent profile then. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | Glad you did not ask for HD-DVD/DVD combo packs I profiled "Wish You Were Here - A Summer To Die For" (EAN 4260090984314 / German locality) a while back... and there the HD-DVD credits are different from the DVD credits... |

| Posted: | | | | Somehow, I knew there'd be exceptions to the rule! How about this. *grins* When I get a blu ray player, I'll double check the credits and make an update if I need to! I'm up to 4 combo packs and one blu ray, but no actual player. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | Not related to the credits question, but I have a question about how to enter Video Format in Blu-ray/DVD combo packs. The rules say (bold types are mine): Quote: Sets containing the same film on multiple media types (such as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack) are to be entered as a normal profile for the main media type (Blu-ray in this example), with all included media types checked. A combo which includes HD media (HD-DVD, Blu-ray) as well as DVD should use the details from the HD media in the main profile. However, you may add an additional profile by Disc ID for the DVD content and add this profile to the Box Set contents for the Blu-ray profile. ...meaning I must use the Blu-ray specs in the profile. But if I check the boxes for both Blu-ray and DVD as "Media Type", then I must also choose whether to check the "16x9 Enhanced" box in Video Format - which would only be applicable for a DVD profile! (This box is greyed out for "Blu-ray only" profiles.) So should I check the box or not? |

| Posted: | | | | Personally I never check the box. Since the DVD can have its own child profile with all the relevant video specs, I don't see what place they have in the Blu-ray part of the profile. Unfortunately, the designer of the program has enabled the option, so we must assume that it's allowed...
(Technically I guess it's possible to store the main feature in anamorphic SD even on a HD disc, I just never seen it done.) | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | Well, it gets submitted whether or not you check the box when uploading the changes, so it doesn't matter. |

Even if I don't check the box, it still will say either NTSC or PAL, which will also be incorrect for a Blu-ray, so I guess it's just something we'll have to accept. |
