It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown was recently released as a Blu-ray/DVD "Combo" two-disc release (883929-145775)

The DVD already has an existing child profile (I2A5BAF5B36525A0D) in the database, but I really can't see why it was originally added into the database as a child profile in the first place. It's an exact duplicate of the original 2008 DVD release (883929-006496) and the same locality which was a single-sided, 1-disc release to begin with.

There are no notes in the original contribution notes as to why it was submitted by disc ID, except for "Adding Child Profile"

Since the original DVD release was a single-disc, and this child profile is the same locality, shouldn't the information for the DVD that was recently included with the Blu-ray supercede this in the child profile? i.e. coverscans, case type, etc..

I could see if it was a child profile added from a flipper disc or a 2-disc DVD release or something, and it would be a valid child profile then; but it just seems like a bogus incorrect profile with no current value to the database, or am I overlooking something here?

I'm guessing it was added as a child profile to a Peanuts box set, such as http://www.axelmusic.com/productDetails/883929008988

The childs profiles  of upc 883929008988  are tied to the parent by upc number  not by the disc ids.

This highlights why it so important to supply notes which communicate, which "adding child profile" does not. Based on what rusty says perhaps the Combo set was already set up for the Blu-ray
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

You're correct Rusty. I just checked the set that KinoNiki mentioned, and the individual child profiles are linked by UPC codes.

Either that set has incorrect childs entered, or the child profile in question has incorrect coverscans it would seem.

Well, there could be other box sets, it was just an example. Or it's an incorrect entry. Maybe a PM to the original contributor would help.

That's true also KinoNiki. I have sent a PM to the original contributor...just waiting to hear back from them.

Okay, the contributor of the Child Profile in question has stated that it is an addition for that set (883929008988) - they didn't state any more than that.

But it is not linked to this set. So, either that profile has the wrong childs or the wrong images are in the child profile in question.

It still seems like a bogus profile...
