Hi.  When trying to add new DVD's to my collection, I fire up 'add new dvd' button, 'Internet database Connection' window opens and starts checking but it keeps hanging on the 'online profile list'. If I cancel, it closes the program.

Have tried uploading connection to data base no problem so its not internet issue.

Have tried reinstalling software but no change.

Any ideas?  Am currently unable to update or upload any new entries.  Been like this for a week or so now.

Thanks oh wise ones...

TC

Did you try a "database repair"?

Maybe a recent automatic update of your virus-scanner/firewall that has set the settings to block the Internet access for DVD Profiler?

Tried turning off Firewall, made invelos 'an exception', cant see anything obvious in the Avast security settings.... When the Database connection comes up, the top green bar flashes accross twice very quickly (so I guess its connected) but it just hangs on the third trip ('online profile list')  First two flash by too quickly to note what they are.

Plan 23 anyone?

Odd thing is, worked fine up until last Sunday.  Could be be a size thing?  I have 2011 entries at last count.

Could it be your Internet provider blocking it?

How would one know?  I'm not at the office so no 'company' filtering going on.

I don't know. There's a user forum for my Internet provider and that's how I know whether there are problems on the network of my provider. It's a possibility, the only way to find out is connecting your pc or laptop via another provider.

Well thanks for the suggestion anyway.  I was trying to insert a snapshot of the window that keeps hanging into the reply.  I get as far as and 'explorer user promt' opening up which may as well be chinese!  Any idea hoe to do that?

Thanks for your input.  FYI, I left it 'hanging' for a few hours this morning and it seems to have sorted itself out! Suddenly worked.  No idea why.

Strange solution, but glad to hear it works again.
