Stupid question... Excellent response!

For those that don't know Major General Peter Cosgrove, this gentleman is an Australian.

General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently.

Please follow his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children.

Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you have to love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time.

In a portion of an ABC radio interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military Headquarters.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL COSGROVE:!
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL COSGROVE:
Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radiocast went silent for 46 seconds and when it returned, this interview was over.
We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.
Ineptocracy, You got to love it.

In Germany this has been a long-running gag about a certain institution called GEZ and the usage of male genitalia...

I agree. In germany they tend to find a scapegoat instead of going to the roots of problems. After a few amok-runs of teenagers at school some politicians made a run for 3D-shooters, saying these are "killer games" and that kids are trained to kill by these games. No mention of the psychic issues of these kids, though... (instable families, no future perspective, bad grades, no friends)

But now a woman (a lawyer) killed her ex-husband and son and shot some people on the street and in a hospital... Let's see if they come up with some bs about her being a dedicated CS-player...

In the end I can only come to the conclusion:
"Guns don't kill people. People kill people"

In Finland currently 66% of men go through military training. Knowing how to use a gun, doesnt make you a killer. By that analogy i should be there blowing up cars with antitank mines

At the moment were going through similar phase as apparently Germany, due to similar past events. Theres a group of people that dont know anything about guns, but they want to outlaw them. Having zero evidence to back their claims, they've receaved a lot of media attention.
