| Posted: | | | | I am updating Planet of the Apes (2001) UPC 024543028963.
The end credits list the following:
Ape Make-Up Supervisor
Key Prosthetic Make-Up
Ape Make-Up Artists
Human Make-Up Supervisor
Key Human Make-Up Artist
Human Make-Up Artist
How should these Artists be credited? | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

| Posted: | | | | If i were doing it those that say "Human..." are all Make-up Artists
"Prosthetic..." would be Make-up Effects.
The two "Ape..." credits...Hmmm, not sure which category they would fall into. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | That is an awkward one. Personally I'd give the ape ones "make-up effects" and the human ones "make-up". And I'd probably credit them all. Edit: I picked one of the ape make-up artists at random on IMDB and his other credits do seem to be mainly prosthetic and effects work. That's why I went with "make-up effects" for them. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | I would see the "Ape" and "Human" just as explanation for which cast group this is made. So every crew member job that is without "Ape" or "Human" allowed within the rules I would list in the crew section matching to them in the crew table. |

| Posted: | | | | This is one title/audit where I'd fully agree with dividers within the make-up crew for ape and/or human.
Are we allowing "prothetics" as make-up effects now? Last time I looked they weren't on the chart and I still have dozens of them as local only crew until the rule does change. I could get busy submitting them all if they are in the rules. |

Last time I looked they weren't on the chart No, there's still no "prosthetic" anything listed as a trackable credit in the crew credits table, so, no, technically they still can't be contributed into the online database. It seems most people don't care about that, though. |

'Prosthetics by', no, 'Prosthetic Make-up by', yes. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. May I ask where that distinction is made, exactly? |

'Prosthetic Make-up', 'Zombie Make-up', 'Alien Make-up', etc. have all been entered as make-up effects since the day we got the credit. In my opinion, those are all correct as they are all 'make-up effects'. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I happen to know that, because I asked the question on day one (as soon as the credit was added to DVD Profiler), and you told me I couldn't enter them because they weren't listed in the crew credits table. Like bigdaddyhorse, I'd like to know at which point this has officially changed. I'm guessing it hasn't. Quote: In my opinion, those are all correct as they are all 'make-up effects'. Let me be clear: I agree with you 100% - these are indeed exactly the people the make-up effects credit is meant for. I'm just pointing out that the rules don't allow them. I gather that you choose to ignore that, and since these are indeed the people we're after, I don't really blame you - just don't come complaining the next time someone enters "functional equivalents" of any other crew credit as well... |

I have always entered these types of credits...ones that are specific, but include the general credit, as the credit. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but it doesn't sound like something I would say...of course, I am going by my current opinion which could have been different back then. Quote:
