The notes for the 'Sound' credit read...

Quote:
Only use when there's no production sound mixing credit

...yet I am seeing wholesale removal even when no production sound mixer is credited.  I have one up for vote, right now, where the only sound credits are 'Sound Editor', 'Sound Re-Recording Mixer' and 'Sound Recordist' and the latter is being removed.

This isn't the first time I have seen this happen, so which is it?  Wholesale removal or only when there is a PSM credit?

I would definitely vote no to such a contribution.

The rules are quite clear. If there is no Production Sound Mixer  (or its equal per the Crew table) credited in the film, any Sound credits are valid and should not be removed.

However, if there is a Production Sound Mixer in the film, any Sound credits should be removed.

This one should be really easy (and Katatonia has it right).

Vote No and vote often.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

That's what I was thinking but, as I have seen it more than once, I wanted to be sure.

I for one don't agee with the removal of the Sound credit, when doing a TV series that list both like Stargate SG-1 its hard not to want both in the credits so I keep that local, but when I contribute I follow the rule.

One user do it and it seems to be his new toys after the Credit Lookup Tools. I just ignore his contributions who are a waste of time as usual...
