| Posted: | | | | I have two questions in the use of the episode and group dividers: 1) The cast credits of "Apocalypto" are splitted into three big divisions: The Village, The Holcane Warriors and The City. Should we use episode or group dividers for them? 2) In at the end of the cast credits of "Dil Bole Hadippa! - Mein Herz ruft nach Liebe " there are Playback Singers credited. Should we use an episode or a group divider for them? Bolded the part of the rule making me undecided: Quote: Use Episode dividers for TV show episodes, distinct films, or other logical episodic distinction. Also use episode dividers for full cast division, such as "Japanese Voices". Use Group dividers to designate cast grouped in the credits such as "Soldiers" or "Additional Cast". Thanks for your opinions and explanations in advance. |

| Posted: | | | | 1. Episode dividers aren't used for within a single title's credits. So no Episode dividers wouldn't be used in "Apocalypto."
2. Are they individually credited or just 1 role for all? If 1 role for all then group divider. If each person has the role repeated for them then no divider. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Episode dividers should be reserved for completely distinct sets of credit lists such as real episodes (distinct time) or dubbing credits (distinct audio). I don't know, are The Village, The Holcane Warriors and The City episodes in the film? If not I wouldn't use episode dividers. |

| Posted: | | | | Pete's got it. Both should also be group dividers, provided the Playback Singers aren't credited separately.
Basically, if it's all the same cast, with divisions within it, then you use group dividers. If it's separate cast lists (such as Japanese & English voices for anime releases) you use Episode dividers. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

In my asking I assumed "1 role for all") Quote: I don't know, are The Village, The Holcane Warriors and The City episodes in the film? Imho not really. |

| Posted: | | | | my rule of thumb is... if I don't have a copy of the movie to look at the credits... I wouldn't mess with the cast and crew at all. | | | Pete |

Don't be this fast. I just want to wait if other opinions to the divider question will follow before going off-topic with my comment to this. |

So now I will try why also vote on credit contributions I don't own. I would bever find the time to check every contribution against the current movie credits even if I would own the movie. If I would always check against the credits I could do the whole work alone and wouldn't need the contribution. So I have to believe the contribution notes and do a check of those things I can check without the movie credits. (Added Birth Years for example) And so I say better checking what I can check instead of doing not voting and also getting the profile approved. With this in my mind there's no reason why I shouldn't also vote on Movies I don't own. And often there is more included than just cast and crew, which can be checked without the movie. |

| Posted: | | | | I wasn't talking about voting. I never once said you shouldn't vote on something you don't own. thought you were talking about submitting... as you didn't make it clear this was one you were voting on.
I was just giving you my rule of thumb it was in no way meant to tell you what to do.
I well know that there is many things that you can easily vote on without owning the title. I do it myself all the time. But I personally don't vote on something I am not 100% sure on. So I personally wouldn't vote on something that effected cast and crew. Note that I am not saying you should or should not... just that I personally wouldn't. | | | Pete |
